switch in Austin, Texas said: For us we wanted him to be home spring break for the kids. Its 120 days and after. You can basically pick your dates as long as there are not too many for that date. so considering that the 4th of Nov wasn't a Sunday, I'm assuming thats when he left Houston, so its 120 days or after from leaving Houston? How long was your husband in Houston, my husbands recruiter had stated they were rushing electricians through the process. |

jdcs wife in riverside, California said: Im one of the few West Coast wives.. Mine left in Dec. he's an electrician too.. In Iraq. Camp Slayer.. here to help I actually have family down in Riverside so am very familiar with your location. I'm so grateful that I found this site, no one seems to understand what it is like to have your husband just up and go, and it not be because your marriage is over, and the military wives I've spoken to haven't been the kindest due to my husband being a civilian and all that. So I was feeling very alone in this, its great to be able to chat with other living through the same experience. |

jdcs wife in riverside, California said: You will be okay.. You know it tends to be that way.. when we need them the most..everything goes wrong. I have a 2 yr. old and Im 6 1/2 months pregnant.. My neighbor helped me take the christmas lights down yesterday.. I was the only house with them still on.. I was not going to climb a ladder.. Plus this morning.. I had 4 light bulbs out.. As I read this post I fell over laughing because I'm sitting here looking at my christmas tree and all the decorations going "I have to clean all this up myself???" Then I noticed that one of my ceiling fans seems to be coming loose from the box...agh...I'm married to an electrician and am going to have to call one of his old coworkers to come fix my house. As far as when the paychecks start rolling in...how long did it take y'all to start seeing the deposits? |

Hi Barbara my name is Brandon Moore I am pretty sure that you get about 100 of these requests a day so no worries if it takes you a while to respond. If you could please check to see if my resume is capable of being opened I would greatly appreciate. I am in the process of trying to get back on to the project and would like the process to go as smooth as possible. My email is bmoore757@gmail.com. Thanks & Regards, Brandon |

Summer it really just depends on when your husband arrived in country, if he got there at the beginning of the month, he will most likely be paid the week after the last friday of the month. If he arrived in country(Dubai) at the end of the mont they may not submit his time sheet until the next pay period which may cause a little heartache for you. Hope this helps. |

Very very helpful, so since I doubt he will be wheels up before the 19th I should probably just not even start looking til March. |

Payroll end on the last Saturday of each month and check direct deposited on the following Friday. If your loved one gets into country before the 15th he should receive a small check the following month. If after then your looking at 6 week check the following month. Debbie |

It all depends on where he is going and again when he gets there. If he is at a larger FOB or COB that has a charter that flies directly into it you stand a chance of receiving a small check early Feb. But if he is at a smaller base that requires him having to wait in order to arrange transport to his camp then you can pretty much expect a fairly larger check in March, |

I'm just hoping I can keep things afloat til the deposits start arriving. And want to make sure that his R&R is going to fall into a doable time, we are a blended family so I have multiple schedules to consider. |

After he is in country and he has given in 2 weeks of timecards he can take a draw from his check. Camps vary, usually 2 draws per month of $500 . Anyway he can western union some of that home should you need it, and hoping he is on a camp that has western union. |

Bagram is one of the largest bases in Afghanistan so he will be processed pretty quickly, we used to convoy out there from Kabul when I was in the Army. You can sleep a little easier at night it is one of the safer bases in the Logcap project. |

My hubby didn't get his itinerary until late afternoon on Friday. We were freaking out with him supposedly flying out on Sunday. They said in one of the packets if you do not have it by noon on the friday before you're scheduled to fly to Houston to contact your recruiter. Thats what we ended up having to do. |

carrigon said: question about the converter...can he take one from here or is it cheaper to buy one there? does he need one? Cheaper to buy one here then have it sent to you because they are fairly heavy and you will be carrying all your gear. But you can take a chance and maybe buy one of a soldier going home, or a contractor demobing. Good Luck |

I really hated that I just had to delete without reading. Maybe I will be able to keep up. Hope that everyone is doing good and staying busy. I know I am. 42 days till R&R, it will have been 7 months since I saw him last. I hope that never happens again. DEBBIE WHY HAS IT BEEN SO LONG SINCE YOU LAST SAW YOUR HUSBAND? I THOUGHT R&R WAS EVERY 4 MONTHS. |
