Thats what I thought I heard too...one of our friends who just flew out last week said the same thing. I have sent a message to his recruiter to see what she can arrange if anything.

Some of the people that took the wabi last week did not have a testing center nearby. The clostest to us was in helena and for us that is about 5 hour drive one way in good weather. So husband got permission to take wabi in Houston, so did our Son.

You must reaapply all over again.

on day 1 they called out25 to 30 people and said yall will be retaking your wabi. they then posted their results. maybe thcy changed it but i do know if you tested hot for drugs you had to wait 6 months and that was anything like vicoden if you didnt have prescription

I don't even drink or take any kind of meds. With anyone retaking the Wabi, I know it was alway six months after you don't pass.

Gabi, as you siad, since they are not on the payroll, yes they should be able to continue to draw unemployment--if already on it until wheels up day when paytoll begins.

That's what I am wondering about, hubby's old claim ran out saturday and we have 10 days to start the new one. I can do, lol considering I have been doing his unemployment stuff for 30 years (fine print again). Just don't want to hold of and have him sit there in Houston for 2 to 4 weeks and no money coming in. Or file and get in trouble with state. Guess I should call them and find out.

My buddy who is going to houston on march 8th just got this email.

Candidate:

Effective March 1, 2009, KBR LOGCAP has a New Passport Requirement. Every candidate must have a US Passport (in hand) before you come to Houston for processing. (Candidates will be responsible for getting his/her own passport).

You will need to go to the passport office in your area with your passport application along with an official copy of your birth certificate. It may take up to 3-4 weeks to get your passport unless you decide to expedite the process.

As a result of this change, those candidates who currently do not have a passport will need to be rescheduled. To allow time for your passport to arrive, I have rescheduled your processing date to March 30, 2009

Wow, thanks Tstorm. That's good information to know. I know we were hearing changes were coming down. But initially we were told, March 16th, but seems they have backed it up. Thanks again.

Did your recruiter give you a date to be in Houston? Travel itinerary should be in your box the week of your departure. It may come in the box as late as the Friday before the Sunday you are set to fly. If you do not get it by noon on Friday you are suppose to call your recruiter.

Your welcome. You should get a auto confirmation email immediately after submitting your supplement data form. Then you will get another email when this info is entered-- this email will also tell you to expect a separate email with your travel itinerary.

I didn't ask. I do not think it is a problem. I know hubby got his photos for his pass port this morning and they are taking him over to get it tomorrow before his physical. I'll ask hubby if he heard anything when I talk to him again. Though Boston may respond himself. He was on earlier.

i don't know if this is right or not, but....i reported that my husband worked 8 hours the day he went wheels up. that was a saturday which also was the last day of the unemployment cycle in Delaware. so they reduced his check a little but he got most of it. but check with your state just to be certain...we sure don't want to commit fraud (apparently they may you pay back what you got in a WHOLE year even if you only made the mistake on one week). so even though my hubby "worked" only 4.5 hours in that day (flew out at 7:40 pm), i still reported him working a full day b/c i was worried kbr may pay him 8 hours for the day.

ok so for the ones that have gone to Houston, can you give a breakdown of how the week before works? What day do you usually get your travel plans? I would be a drive in so there would be no airfare for me. I see some posts about a Supplemental data form? I have submitted all paperwork, done both my accurate background checks (Criminal and Driver only) and subitted all other stuff. Im just wondering when to watch my email......

I just went today to get my passport done. My local post office offered picture services for $15, but call yours first to check if they offer it.

You need to bring your own photos. Any photo studio can take them for you. I had mine done at Sears yrs ago. The post office will send them off with your birth certificate and application.

2 -3 days before you are scheduled to go out.. sometimes even the night before

all flights go thru dubai. then you fly to afgan or iraq from there. as for layovers it all depends on your flight. i had the atlanta to dubai direct 13 hour flight and i have flown that everytime for R&R its the fastest. others stop in london or amsterdam or germany depending on which air line they are booked on. hope that helps

my wife got a passport back in may where we live in FL and the post office took 2 pics for 15 bucks. she didnt expedite it and still had it back in 6 days

Yes, I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was, but also realized I probably should've at least *tried* to look decently presentable. Haha. I was in my errand-running get-up, not a stitch of makeup, had to take the sunglasses off my head that were holding my hair back... at least I smiled! :P

The answer may be somewhere in the 200+ pages here but here is my question: I applied as a Master electrician and was told to expect that they would only offer me the journeyman position. That is exactly what happened. Anyone have any thoughts as to my next move? Are they playing the waiting game hoping I'll call back and accept the other position or is there really a possibility that they don't have any Master's positions open (even though they are still on the website)? Thanks for any input.

With KBR it is a take it or leave it situation. Yhey have hundred of people apply for each job.

Seems like they hire masters at journeyman wages and then once in country you will have the opportunity to advance. I think that is your only way in.

My husband didn't take the last position offered, back in September, as it was just bad timing as far as when they wanted him to leave. His new offer is for less money and just came in last week. If you really want to go, take what you get offered.

Wal Mart portrait studios do them for $10. Just an FYI. Also, they told us DON'T smile or they might not accept it? You might want to check the rules for this, our WM photog though he was Mr. Professional, lol.
