Koko Wilson in AS, Florida said: For you truck drivers, if you have not already been over there, Dyncorp is looking for truck drivers but it is in Qatar. Uplifts I imagine since they are less if working in Kuwait, will by less also for Qatar too. I know too that they recently got a 70 +20 million $ contracts in Kuwait awarded to them. Well actually it was awarded back in Nov. But it was protested, and put on a stay well it was negotiated. The stay was released Feb 11th I believe. But I do not see a lot of job listings for Kuwait in their listing as yet, so I imagine they have not began to hire for these contracts yet.

KoKo truck driving jobs for dyncorp are on pending assignment. But do apply you would ahead of the game.

I'm so excited...just mailed hubby's first care package! He only arrived at his base yesterday (left Houston February 7) and gave me his APO address. Can't wait for him to get it! I included some of his favorite girl scout cookies (thin mints).

Question on HEART STENTS? 11 years ago dropped dead in E.R., I've got one in and never had another problem. knock on wood. Saw where you had to get a release, Can it be from reg. DOC or does it have to be from the Cardologist???? The waiting line for him is unreal and his stress test is real $$$$$$$$$$$$.

Barbara: would you say that kbr will again hire drivers in the next month or two? and how would I get my name towards the top of the heap other than having application in at kbr.com and applying for driving positions when they come up. I have hazmat, tanker endorsment, passport and am making sure I have no medical or dental issues.

Mona, you and your hubby are in my prayers in hopes that they find something available for him. If he has any other skills that relate to what is on the KBR site perhaps he can update his resume with that info.

Yes , it's good if you can get it and keep Ms Barbara. My hubby is in the boat thats sinking with the rest of these guys, we, like all the rest have sunk everything we have into this and the week before he is supposed to leave we get that fateful call(well, I called him) Tough thing is my husband was a bus driver almost as long as he was a truck driver so we are hoping for that , thanks again for talking to us . You are a doll.

My old goat has two stints.....never had a problem. He passed all his medical and is heading to Afghanistan today. If your hubby is over 40 he'll have to have an ekg, but that's not a big deal. My hubby will be 58 in April and (KNOCK ON WOOD) he made it.

It think the key is patience. Just tell him to think about how much better things will be on down the road.

Guys, just for a little of encouragement, I emailed my recruiter to ask about a hiring freeze and this is what she said: " No, we do not have a hiring freeze right now. We are low on positions, but not on a freeze ". That was word for word. Just got the response 5 minutes ago.

Advantage: Pick up cookies anytime and easy to buy more!

Hopefully is has something to do with the uncertainty of the iraq pullout that obama is press conferencing about. From one of my buddies in the army, he says the plan is to withdraw one brigade per month throughout the 2009 year. If anything, try to go afghanistan. Iraq is almost over. My neighbor might be sent home from iraq with his company and he just got over there 3 months ago.

Oh my , I tell you , this is one of the worst things I have ever been through , it's all I think about day and night. You know what the worst thing is ? Paul has wanted to be in the military his entire life , but he is from Jamaica , father brought him here when he was just a boy and dumped him on a sister he didnt even know he had. Noone helped him, he has worked his butt off every day for 33 years and all he wanted to do was be in the military , I thought this was my chance to make his dream come true, at least close. That is breaking my heart .

WOW I am excited I just got my travel confirmation from HR in Houston. I report to the Hilton on Sunday Mar 1st as a Recovery Mechanic. I was actually in Houston today getting some last minute supplies from an Army surplus store about 2 miles from Greenspoint aka Gunspoint mall where we process at. I saw a HUGE store with no name and figured that was where the KBR guys were. They must have just been set free for lunch because there were about 90 guys standing outside and they must have been KBR because they didnt look like the people in that part of town.....

Well like I said his Father brought him here and dumped him with his sister no papers no money nothing. Back then even if you were not a citizen you could still join the military but he was only 16 ,also he did not know this . He quit school at 17 in the 11th grade and he has done nothing but work since then.By the way , he is a citizen now :-)Both his cousins came here from Jamaica at a young age and both are retired from the military now in their 50's . None of them tried to help him though .
