Fan7 in The South said: I spent a month there. When I left the conditions were nice. Great billeting, great DFAC, great gym, great MWR. It did get a bit muddy though when it rained. I enjoyed my short stay there. Some like it there, some don't. I found it relatively quiet as compared to my 2 yrs at Anaconda. I would pick Diamondback over Anaconda any day. Kool! That makes feel alot better. how about houseing? |

I note there is even a shot of a KBR contractor–he got the–Oh what ever those red thingies are that they wear about there neck with the KBR logo. But be warned, it also pulls up a bunch of pictures of daimondback–snakes! But if you click on the picture of and from the camp there are some photo stream shots. Also check out Globalsecurity. It has a listing of all the camps with some info. Thanks Koko I'll do that. |

The housing was great -- You had a room on each side of the bathroom, typical KBR housing unless you are in tent. The rooms were both reasonably big by KBR standards. What I mean by that is you could extend both arms out, wall-to-wall, and not actually touch anything. In other words, you could move around without feeling like you were stuck in a matchbox, LOL. Certainly not the Ritz, but I have seen worse KBR housing... |

Yes blessed they are going to be long, in 30 years we only been apart about 6 month altogether. Worry about he old coot :-). I asked him too if it was nice to be so needed, lol. Hope he gets to stay where he is at right at the moment. Guy from Billings MT is his foreman. They can talk about buffalo hunting in off time, :-). No Koko, he wasn't in Dubai very long. He said everytime his end of the line got anywhere near the phone it was chow time, or meeting. Plus, he had to actually spend some time reading instructions for calling card.lol stuborn man.

Ok everyone, I finished up my work for the day–do not now how I manage in between board post-- so I am for bed. Talked to hubby this evening and his time is his own till hold over meeting at 6:PM tomorrow since he doesn’t have any appointment for Monday. Gonna watch The Out of Towners–the older version, not the remake with Jack Lemon. Bought for hubby to send over later, but thought I would screen it first. ;-) Hope everyone has a good evening. Fan you take care over there, & come back often. Love your insight. Gabi, hubby has promised to practive using his from Houston before he leaves. He says lot of the guys are struggling with them what with the codes. Switch, tomorrow will be 9 days and counting I think. Debbie thinking of you and your hubby having a good time. George, you and Doug and anyone else that touched us this week, know we will be holding our breath for you. |

I'm putting together a website with logcap tips and a forum. Anyone have some pics from over there you would be willing to let me use? No photo credits will be posted and any people either cannot be recognizable or grant permission for me to use their image. This is a hobby project - free of charge - to help others with the free info I have found. I won't be charging to use the site but I will have ads and take donations so I don't have a lot of funds to purchase pics.
Thanks for input! |

Wow, I keep forgetting to ask about the POA,,are they really necessary?? I've already got my taxes done, but I'm not sure what might come up while I'm gone??? What do you ladies think?? I trust my wife completely, so that's not the issue. Do you all think I should get one just for her peace of mind?? |

Well i am no lady..lol but i think it is a great idea. I got mine because if for any reason she needs to sell something or take care of any of my company needs she has that power. The trust is also there with my wife, plus she knows it will be impossible for her to hide from me...lol She takes care of everything now as it is, just want to make sure she will have no problems when i am gone. Also i want here to redo our morgage loan to get a better rate when the time is right to save some money so we had to have it for that. I would say do it, cuz you never know what might come up in a year. |

We've been married 15 years and he doesn't even have a debit card, I don't even know if he knows where we bank, LOL, so trust isn't an issue here either. I know we need one, Jason is right, you never know what might come up in a year and if like us, not everything has both names on it, she will NEED it. A few months ago I had a question about something on our car payment. It's in his name alone but he long ago added me as an autorized person on the account. When I called they wouldn't talk to me and said that in November they changed their policy, it had to be written and verbal before they would accept the permission for him to add me. Had he already been gone, I would have been SOL. |

I dont know many clean shaven carpenters and i havent had a shaven chin since i was in the army. I know when i left for houston i felt like a different person without my goat. Now that i have been able to grow it back i will be a little bummed to have to shave it again when i get back.....if i can get back. |

Gabi, They vary by state? I haven't googled yet because I have a feeling this is going to be one of those things that's going to take a little digging...I really don't want to drag him out to yet another appointment to see a lawyer for this, I know he has a lot of hurry up and wait ahead of him so I am trying to minimize it now and it seems every appointment we've had has been like that. |
