erick wilson in Houston, Texas said: How difficult is it to be promoted we were told you have to be on the job they hired you for for six months before you can even apply for promotion and most likely you'll do the job you hired on for for the first year. BUT, being the whole thing is "mission driven", you can move up if you have a skill that they need. |

All I remember is that the B sites are marines. Much more stringent on rules then other camps. Electronics are sometimes a problem. B-4 is probably a smaller camp and may have limited amenties. Maybe someone will be on later that has been to that camp. Debbie |

Thanks Debbie, hubby said that there were too many carpenters and they were transfering and sending home a few. At least he got transfered instead of sent home. He just knows its a b4 site and he thinks it begins with an R. so if anyone knows just let me know! Thanks :)

B-4 is Ramadi..There used to be b-2 Blue Diamond but I understand that was taken over by the Iraqi military. B-1 is Al Asad which is where I was in operations as well as operations for all the B sites in 2005 which then was referred tpo as yhe "wild wild west". The B sites were the worst place to be as far as constant incoming attacks(SIR), housing, and especially the lack of fresh food. |

dantenh in west union, South Carolina said: well thank you very much. I should of also mentioned the B sites are in the sunni triangle which is part of El Anbar provence. Fallujah and Ramadi are today are very safe nothing like when I was there. The B sites today are one of the better sites to be working at, food is good and not much activity. Very Safe. All the B sites are Marine bases. |

Morning everyone, Talked to hubby late last night–early morning his way. He said he was doubled up yesterday in a wet chu with a convoy trucker yesterday who admits he always did have more balls then brains. Hubby says he’s a great guy and they hit it off right away. But he’s only there for a few days-- long enough to get his license renewed. But late last night they had a late group come in and no where to bed em down so they put army cots in some of the double chu. Ok, so you got to roll with the punches, no problem with that–cept hubby got up early this morning to start his first work day and went into the bathrm to get cleaned up. I gather it was like scene out of the movie Daddy Daycare when Eddy Murphy steps into the bathrm and darts his head all around and everywhere–cause . . . its everywhere. Not pretty! Hubby says he can not wait to see what his trucker friend/ roommate thinks when he gets up. I said well I certainly hope he doesn’t think you left the bathrm like that. Hubby responds, ah no, he already knows I am housebroke. LOL |

Greg has told me many times that some of these people they hire have no consideration of others. He swears they pulled people out of the underpasses in Houston or their from other countries are not accustom to being polite and not making a mess. Some may have never had indoor plumbing. It is always nice to get to your assigned camp and get your own CHU, although my hubby has had to share the first year and he said his roomies were okay, except had some very smelly feet and boots. So every day when roomy was gone he would spray his boots with foot spray. Debbie |

Ok ladies, I did search through the posts and can't seem to find what I am lookin for even though I know it's been repeated several times....how do we keep track of their time? I know it's 8 hours no uplifts on wheels up...and then? Thanks ladies! |
|
Debbie Creery in Gatesville, Texas 38 months ago |
8 hours with 5% uplift for days in Dubai, then 8 hours with 75% uplifts for other travel days, first day at camp and working is 12+ hours with 75% uplifts. Payroll ends on the 28th of this month. |

Probably not because of $500.00 draw, medical ins. and may not get to assigned camp before end of payroll. Even if he got one it would be very small amount. Debbie |

Koko Wilson in Fran's wife, Florida said: O well they do this in all third world countries. And in some instances it doesn't even have to be a third world country. Many people are still disillusioned with the idea that the streets of America are paved with gold. And it is true they will do and try anything to get hooked up and married. Often times it means--to thier minds-- not only salvation for themselves but also the rest of their families. With the idea that they will be able to bring them to America later. Uh Huh , I know . It had me laughing so hard he said he told the man later that he KNOWS who he is married to and she's got a big ol gun LOL |

Also desert heat/fever/love is where 2 people married or not end up hooking up and the romance is multiplied because you are in the desert. I have seen in my military days people on a 4 month deployment meet and fall in love and get married soon as they got back LOL. Doenst have to be 3rd world country people. I work with a guy who went home divorced his wife to be with some lady he met over here that works for KBR |

tstorm in Plan 38 months ago |
basically if your marriage is weak the separation and opportunity will kill it. that is just human nature and what i have seen |
|
Koko Wilson in Fran's wife, Florida 38 months ago |
Its a risk for the gals too putting out in such a manner, cause there is nothing but a moral conscious to force the guy to entangle himself in a marriage. No reason he can not walk away if he hasn’t a conscious about such matters, and then the gal is gonna be out of a job and on her way back home once it is discovered she is pregnant. And she will be hard pressed as in out of luck for a means of forcing any issue of financial support. . These are the gals that often suffer a miscarriage too--if things didn't goes as planned--before it becomes an issue with the powers that be too. |

Koko Wilson in Fran's wife, Florida said: T storm, you are just full of cheerful news this morning. LOL ;-) LOL i was just putting out there what i have seen in the year i have been here and year i spent here deployed in the military. some of these women are worse than the men. its like this. In the states that woman would be a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. over here with the ratio of men to women she now becomes a 7 to 8 and getting all kinds of attention that she never ever received in the states. Does that make sense? So its not always "the guys fault" it takes 2 to tango |
