It is BRS ( brown and root service) you have a security clearance which is an extra few hundred dollars base per month. Reason i know is i applied internally for it and got the base pay from HR. MWR is less than that but more than th 2583 base. 2583 is what all the trades start out as everyone else is more |

So Security doesnt require you to have to carry firearms ? I have no military or law enforcement experience, even though i have a 4 year degree in criminal justice...aside from washing dishes for over 4 years during college and the 5plus years of mental health case management, i never done anything else. I see alot of these jobs on KBR deal with having a trade so i wasnt sure what i even qualified for with KBR. I am single, have no children or anything so i all i need is my IPOD, my Sirius Radio, and the internet, and im set..ill wash dishes or ill be watch dog!! |

Question: (I suddenly feel like a newbie again! lol) Husband just went back to Iraq after his EOC. I know they say they pay for the whole airfare for the EOC but does that mean they REIMBURSE the whole price or do they literally pay for the ticket? The intellectual side of me says they reimburse the full amount. The hopeful side says they paid for it. |
|
Stephanie AJ in Corpus Christi, Texas 38 months ago |
And also, for his EOC, they sent him through Atlanta to Houston using Delta. Even though it took him longer to get home, using that route, he actually got home 6 hours earlier than the Emarites flight because he left the day before! He loved it as did I and the kiddo!!! |

I'm on a roll!!!! lol Salary question: Can anyone give me an idea on what a medic makes? |
|
Koko Wilson in Fran's wife, Florida 38 months ago |
Ok I am a newbie, what is EOC? There is a medic or two wife on board here so they should be able to answer your question as far as pay once they get in this way. |

Koko Wilson in Fran's wife, Florida 38 months ago |
Ok its coming to me I think–end of contract? Can I ask how long he got to be home before he had to go back? |
|

Does anyone know if the guys can buy clothes over in Iraq, they will be stationed in Al Asad. What I am asking is, when the clothes they bring to Iraq wears out, can they buy there or do I have to send more? |
|
Debbie Creery in Gatesville, Texas 38 months ago |
I believe that we had to pay for the cost of ticket they they re-imbursement the amount of ticket after he came back. But can't put my hands on that period of time for us. That is how they get you to come back I guess. LOL |

End of contract you are allowed 21 days, but have to be mindful of your 35 days in U.S. |

Gabriele in troy, Montana 38 months ago |
with vonage you have to have access phone. With magicjack you just need an internet connection, like DSL, or satelitte or cable. Magic jack is loaded on your computer, so it only works when your computer is on. MagicJack does work overseas on my friends computer in germany through a german internet provider. |

Not a V-phone but, a modem type thing and she plugged it in and got a number through Vonage and we talk for free. I just wonder if it would work in Iraq if someone had their own computer. She has it hooked up to her computer at her home (base housing). I had to send her the device from her because Vonage does not ship to foreign countries. |

I went up 3xday last winter to make sure stove was going so pipes don't freeze, feed sixteen dogs in sixteen different kennels scatter all over the place. Shoveled my way to the stupid dogs, same with cow and goats and donkey. thats on his moms. Then brother in law was deployed and we took care of everything for her both before and after she went to join him when he finished out his time in Kansas. I can't even get his brother to come down and help me with the battery post that is stuck and softened from battery acid. oh well, I am inventive. I found the short, ordered the part and will replace it myself tomorrow. As for the short draining the battery,,, wellll thats what they make fuses for... lol just pulled it out :). Don't think hubby and son are going to be to pleased. DIL and I are doing just fine on our own. Just chalk it up to experience. :) Don't you just love the in-laws and the rest of the family?I don't even ask knowone for nothing anymore.I just do it myself. |

As far as EOC affecting the 330 days,he had already met the 330 days for 2008 and we're going to start his 2009's 330 days on the day he gets back to Iraq. On the IRS form (2055?) it states "any 365 day period". At least that's what our financial advisor and our accountant (and tax preparer) advised us to do. |

That would be correct if he had already completed 365 days in country before you file your taxes. But many have to split the year because of wheels up dates vary and the IRS code states they must be in country 330 days from their wheels up date to take the exclusion. They would have to file for extensions to file taxes after they have completed that 365 days. And if you don't count the 21 days taken at end of contract you must stay in country 330 days before you end your next EOC date. It gets very complex and I advise everyone to find a CPA or tax office that deals with expaites and exculsion issues. Debbie |

I was in the process of having some vericouse viens taken care of in my right calf. possible leaky "check valve" in my groin. needed a ultra sound to determine that. If that were the cause I could have minor (orthoscopic) surgery to fix that with about week for full recovery. If recovery is only a week, do it NOW, should be ok. Get a release from your doctor

Get a release from your doctor if you are going to be in afghanistan or probally even flying would affect you becasue the diffrent altitude levels will affect the amount of oxygen you breathe and return have an affect on your circulation of blood. so being that your veins are paths of blood i really dont know how it will affect you but i am sure there will be some effect to your blood pressure then. and if you can not test 150/85 or below then kbr will not allow you to travel to iraq/afghanistan without doctors prescribed medication. i am not a doctor or anything like that but i did stay at a holiday inn. i know bad joke. just do whatever your doc. says to do and let your recruiter know because if you can't get through your physical will then you are a disqualified canidate |
