I agree that is crap. This never happened till about a month ago and then it all went crazy. Had you quit your job? Hope not. My hubby going to me disappointed. The plumbing foreman is leaving very soon. They have no plumbing supervisor as he demobbed for medical 2 months ago and he will be stuck with two supervisor's job and no extra pay. Not looking forward to the mess. Keep me up to date and any other changes. I'm so sorry about the change. Debbie |

Tell Hubby that now is the time to step up. No more flying under the radar. Time to be up front and "in your face" on his missions. Interact with the chief of services, and camp manager as much as possible. Whether he wants foreman, or supervisor title and money,... the COS and CM are the ones he needs to impress. Also... if he is appointed to act as foreman or supervisor ( even temporarily ) if he is acting in that position and carrying the responsibilities for 30 days or longer... they have to give him the money, and backpay him for the entire time he has been doing it. Ive seen several situations, where HR just gives them the position they were covering, when they are confronted about the money. however, you dont mention the money, or title until after the 30 days are up. Hence... how you beat the Kenfolk, Brothers, Relatives system. (maybe Im out of line here, but thought I would throw that out there for everyone) |

Thank you for the reply. I will pass the information to hubby. He was acting foreman for 3 weeks while foreman was on R&R but unpon his return the foreman told him to stay in the office and he would show him the all the paperwork involved. Then my hubby went on R&R and again when he got back to camp it was back in the office and that is when his foreman told him he was demobbing very soon and he needed to learn it all because he was the person that was going to get stuck doing the job. Hubby is not looking forward to the job and his camp is "Bosnian" run. Its all messed up. He and one other in his department are American, 1 from South Africa, and the other 5 are Bosian. Site manager is also Bosnian, she will fire an American for anything but the Bosnian's get caught sleeping and nothing happens. My hubby has been a plumber for 26 years and the last 7 years a Master plumber so he is certainly able to do the job but he can't perform miracles in a department and camp that is totally messed up. Thank you for the advise and I will pass it on. But you certainly understand the issues in country better then I know. I'm only concerned with him rocking the boat and getting a plane ticket home. Jdcs, Sharon and others. It’s a girl! No one is disappointed–works out nicely as the kids have everything for a girl and they will eventually be able to share a room–so its all good. Appears very healthy–and God works in mysterious ways–DIL who lost her sister will be able to revisit sisterhood through her daughters. We haven’t a name–only stress point at this point is trying to come up with a name that is equally as lovely as her big sister's Neveah–heaven spelled backwards. Any ideas? The kids are open to suggestions. Won't be able to tell grandpa till tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a great evening. |

Brian worked securing the borders and building the towers on the borders. He also was on the barrier group installing barriers on all the military bases. He would fly all over the place. He is getting ready to fly out in a few days... God Willing... They stopped funding the border project so he got laid off. He is in Houston with another guy who also worked with him. Did you work with the guys installing the border towers? Wild and crazy down on the border and very dangerous. |

Ok here is my idea of the day for what ever it is worth. I have vonage. I called vonage and they told me that if I get an 800 number for I think $9.00 a month just add it to my line then Brian can get on the KBR phone in Iraq and just call the vonage 800 number and it will come into my house and if I go out just forward it to my cell phone. Tip of the day. |

tony magana in west coast said: What if your a labor foreman? Do you get extra pay? Labor foreman is the base level of that department. A general foreman is the next level, followed by Super thats at the top. That's actually what I am basing the advice from. When a GF goes on R&R, or Demobs.. other GFs will try to get a foreman to step up and take some of the work load. You always want to learn everything you can, with knowledge being power. There were instances where a GF demobed, and it took more than 30 days for HR to set up internal interviews for the position. The foreman that carried the workload was able to claim the position without application or interview because he had already been "acting GF" for more than 30 days. Otherwise, you have 180 days to be stuck as foreman before you are elligible to promote. In the meantime, each department office has a book labeled B.O.E. and another ammended and informal book ( or file full of loose memos) call the S.O.P. The supervisors are obligated to give you access to them to study. Whenever possible.. you should take a look. Your kowledge of that book, and the do's and donts of your department are what get you that GF or supervisor position at the interview. |

Debbie, let you husband know to make sure he watches his back if you are on a camp like that then is very easy to get the boot because you are making waves. I thought only junk like that happens in Afghanistan, if you make waves better make sure everything is documented and paperwork make sure you have copies of what you are doing because they will try and set you up. IE missing paperwork, work orders not completed on time and any other BS they can try to get him on. Don't leave anything untouched or not copied somewhere so when your SOR's are not completed make sure you have docuementation to prove your point. |
