Yes they are pushing you through fast. My hubby is in Baghdad doing electrical training before he heads off to his camp .Which camp are you scheduled to go to ? |
|
Jeffrey Clarke in North Port, Florida 43 months ago |
I do not know I was told once I arrive at camp victory, I will be assigned from their.
|
|
switch in Austin, Texas 43 months ago |
Yes his recuiter told him Victory, then when he arrived at Houston he was told Liberty, thats what the paperwork says. He is meant to be going to F1. He has come to realise that nothing is set in stone. They have been told that once they have finished training they will be sent where they are needed. He started training last sunday so we should know this sunday where he will be assigned. All the electricians are sleeping in a big tent in Victory. |
|
Jeffrey Clarke in North Port, Florida 43 months ago |
I really don't like the idea of sleeping in a tent, I hope they have heat and A/C. |

If you owe over $2,500 in child support you can't get a passport. |
|

I'm not 100% sure but you can't get a passport if you owe back child support. Might have something to do with the work permit too. Could be wrong. |

Hello, Thank you all for all of your comments and information. I am in the process of getting ready for a Dec. 1 processing date in Houston. I had a few direct questions and would be very appreciative of any answers or insights. 1. I know what the WABI test is, but am very concerned about failing it-- I take it Thursday. I have a tendency to over-think things like this. I'm a responsible, normal person, but I'm terrified of trick questions. For example 'do you lie'-- how on earth do you answer that? I don't go around lying all day, but I'm sure I've embellished even unconsciously. Do you get disqualified if you answer this the wrong way? Any other types of questions can you remember that you'd be willing to relay? It seems A LOT of people fail this test and the only info I can find out is 'use common sense' and 'don't say you like to sky dive' 2. Per the physical exam: --Do they ask you if you've had general anesthesia in the last six months? Why? Would they be able to tell? --Do they check your medical records or ask for them for any reason? --About a month ago, my dr. recommended I try an ADD medication. I hated it b/c all it did was make my heart race and impossible for me to sleep. So, after a week of trying it out I stopped. Clearly, I don't have ADD and probably just need to eat and exercise better (not saying ADD doesn't exist, just that I don't have it). Anyway, can they tell if you've been on these drugs-- I've read they are out of your system in a week? If so, is that an automatic dis-qualifier? I can bring a doctor's note, but what should it say? I feel like a moron having taken my Dr's advice only to be offered this amazing opportunity with KBR the next week! Thank you to all who contribute to this site. I really appreciate the honesty and sense of community it has provided. Should I end up over in Afghanistan after all the processing is through, I'll be sure to return the favor. |

Hello SD99, in regards to the WABI test the key is consistency. Regardless if you answer yes or no to sky diving, it must be consistent with the other answers that has questions in regards to taking risks. I thought I was going to have the same problem but it turned out pretty good. It is not a right or wrong test, it's more so an evaluation of you as a person.....Goodluck, let me know how you do. You'll be fine though.... |

jhouston in Katy, Texas said: Can anyone tell me if child support issues can stop you from getting hired with KBR? If so, how? You will not be able to get a passport if your child support is behind. Differs in states, but any back child support puts a flag on your passport, try to get this fixed before huston, because you will just wind up coming back home until it is unflagged. My husband didn't even owe child support but because he was paying the ex directly instead of the state (it was faster for her), they had him flagged. He got it straightened out in the state she was in before he left but it still did not get unflagged in Washington so he had to come home until it got done. |
