As a journeyman electrician, when you sign contract in Houston make sure that the base pay they offer is 3,750 dollars. That gives you 122,000 a year.

Debbie Creery in Gatesville, Texas said: KBR is raping us on these tickets. Always 400-600 higher then we can purchase ticket ourselves. And with the number of plane tickets they buy they must be getting some great prices for tickets. I flew from Dallas to Barcelona and my ticket only cost $560.00 round trip. Someone should put a stop to the gouging of money on these tickets.

Debbie

mine round trip to tampa and back was 1227 bucks cheapest i could find it on the web was 1080. I think it mainly depends where you are flying but they do make money

yes the DFAC is for everyone to eat as well as MWR. Kbr has their own little mwr's and phone booths but all others are for everyone else except the TCNs. TCNs have their own DFAC to eat from

Koko Wilson in Florida said: Happy May day! Jordon congrats– bon voyage and best of luck.

Debbie congrats to your husband as well!

We got paid too. I am not really sure if the numbers are correct this time–seems so but for some overtime hrs hubby worked before they scaled back to the just 12 hrs. However he did get a cash advance and then with the 500.00 for insurance . . . without pay stub it is kind of hard to tell. I am by no means disappointed–just hope that he isn’t as well.

Got my first package from him yesterday, he mentioned he gotten some stuff for us, but never mentioned he mailed so it was an unexpected surprise.

This morning I am off to rent a car for a few days cause hubby diesel excursion broke down last week. Wouldn’t you know it, I just paid it off and it is off warranty. I dare not drive it, so I had it towed home till talked to hubby and have since arranged for it to be towed to mechanic later this morning. I fear its not gonna be a cheap fix either. It been a roller coaster all week cause son’s vehicle is not in the best of shape either. No real worries about before--cause well we “had” the excursion. So I imagine this mth is going to be a mth dealing with vehicle repairs. Oh yeah and getting triple A–( while on warranty, I had roadside grrrr) & I tell ya I’d of paid for a yrs AAA membership already with what it has cost me to pay for towings.

Hope everyone has a lovely day filled with good news and job offers.

Good morning all,
Koko they told Paul they arent paying any ot , they just get a couple of hours off early the next day. One thing I would not ever be without AAA

you have to remember some days he might of worked 8 hours and did he already go on r&r
and if he did, he might of not got his uplift. I know rick leaves the 21st for bagram and only gets 8 hours a day til he leaves for dubai then he only gets 8 hours a day after
leaving dubai and no uplifts. I hope i explained this right.

i thought so...and my hubby was HOT over it...but i just tried not to think about it and consider it "insurance" for a good job for the next 8 months. i think part of the reason they get away with what they do is that folks are "job scared". It took a lot to get him there and now we want him to stay...need him to stay.

another thing...they gave him HORRIBLE flights. i called Air France directly and the better flight are available. but since it was booked through KBR travel (not the real agency name, i know) they are the only one who can change it UNTIL hubby is on his first flight. so once he is on that, we can change the return flight to the better time on our own.

no r&r yet...and he only worked one day at 8 hr the rest were 12...so can't wait to see the difference. the only thing i know of is the air which i expected to be gone. perhaps they charged more than was on the paperwork he got back. if so, i will be more angry!!

and...the reason he has to sit there from 9 am is b/c he has to take a small flight from the island to the mainland so it's not like he can stay at the hotel w/ late check out.

since it is his money and not his supervisors i would call HR Travel and find out what the deal is. Find out how much today to buy that exact same flight and take that price to them along with another option. HR Travel always gives you 2 options minimum to choose from. Unless he is wanting to fly on a certain airline that is pure highway robbery.

making waves is more along the lines of sluffing off work and pointing fingers blaming others snitching lol but this is about hard earned money not well spent

For my first R/R April 20 - May 4ish...KBR offered me one ticket, roundtrip from Kuwait to Tampa, for $1,800ish. I found one online (Expedia) for $890. That woulda been great, but I missed the fine print, they were getting me back to Kuwait one day too late, so I ended up changing my ticket, cost like another $4-500. It was still considerably cheaper than KBR's ticket, but I had to wonder if they were gonna get me to Kuwait in time, cuz that would be on me. Dust storms delay us alot. Next time, I'll try to find "insurance". The $18 deal I got, was only valid for the 48 states I think.

I had AAA for many years but finally had to drop them as the cost became unrealistic. My auto insurance is able to replicate their services for a fraction of the cost. AAA seemed most intent on selling me more "insurance"; but they did do what they said they would the few times we used them.
