carrigon in Dover said: and another bright note...you have a new car....kinda! i mean fresh miles...and just when you got paid off. i know, not what you want to hear, but just trying to find the upside in it! :) I appreciate your good thoughts on the matter. No upside to this. This is hubby’s baby. He used to have a fleet of them when he had his company and this is the only one I was able to save when we had to close the company. And this is my fault. It a beasts and hard to drive–as far as the bad traffic this way and small parking spaces. When I have places to go I usually trade with son and drive his little car. And I was actually the one that drove it half way across country with daughter, DIL and new born baby and 2 cats to bring it to hubby and the remains of my family to florida. |

T, must have been a while since you been through a winter... remember the dakotas, nothing to do, lots of snow and nothing to do :). I would gladly be somewhere warmer. year around would be nice. If I want winter I could go to aspen or even here in montana, sit in a ski lodge by a nice warm fire. Sucks to get the white stuff all the time. :) |

t magana in California said: KoKo you only have to drain gas out and put diesel back in should be ok. Thank god it wasnt the other way around. Look for a local handyman he should be able to do it. Thank T magana. I have heard it is worse the other way around diesel in reg gas tank. Fingers crossed. I found a good diesel mechanic. They have been really great about it all. Straight up about expenses--though they do get 90.00 an hr. WOW. I just wished it would have been water/ mositure--even iof the injectors are involved--no one needs to be nail to a cross for that. I know son never did it on purpose. |

Oh no Koko, never thought he should be nailed to a cross or raked over the coals for it. Never thought he did it on purpose. I just know from experience that once I quit covering the boobboos my daughter did she paid more attention. |

It is his dad I worry about. Father and son tensions. Hubby doesn't see everything I do and son does mess up from time to time--but he takes it really hard when he does. Is really hard on himself. To me, I am sorry is enough without ripping him a new one so to speak. And I worry that hubby will be hard on son about it. Sometimes he surprises me though. Fingers crossed. |

I had the same problem with my hubby and daughter. too much alike in many ways. For a time I thought I would have to wear black and white striped shirt and a whistle around my neck till the day I die. Always playing peace maker and go between. |

Ok I am off here for the day, will check in later this evening. Hopefully indeed won't mess up on me like it did last night. Would not let me post after the first few posts. Even tried laptop thinking maybe its my desktop computer... nope it was indeed. LOL, maybe punishment for shooting off my mouth. :)

pickers in Hereford, United Kingdom said: Where are you working now mate, anyone else over there hiring Brits? did you leave KBR because they were rough or did you finish your contract? I left KBR because they're were a disgrace... they ask their guys to cut too many corners they will never learn... but most daft electricians do it for them... they have no back bone to stand up to KBR they're all scared of losing their jobs! they're risking so many lives just look up on the net about KBRs history of electrocutions in Iraq!! I sub contract into Fluor... I'm back in the UK on a break but I'm in two minds weather to go back to Iraq of just head over to Sakhalin in Russia. I worked for Fluor Daniel before so I'd a few contacts in there, but defently only use KBR as a last resort if it's possible. |

KBR are the worst payers for Electricians in Iraq! Fact! |

Like i said earlier there are always good ones and always not so good ones but to say everyones a cowboy is just ridiculous |

You really need previous experience to get a kick in with Fluor... as for DynCorp I'm not too sure... are KBR still hiring? If they are contact Charles Williams or Deborah Malone... but honestly the money was ok with KBR but the conditions were shockin plus the fact they want you to do 120 X 12 hour min shifts. Yeah the work in Russia is a great payer... the Russians are the best I've worked for... we were subbed into Sakhalin Energy via Gazprom and it's great money and conditions. Have you experience on LNG terminals? or Offshore rigs... and have you sat your CompEx and ATEX courses? |

Son got it onto the street in between and then it started to act up on him so he pulled over into the mall parking lot. I am thinking he likely drove it about 4 blocks total. Home from work and we are talking and he admits he just put the fuel in at the station in the Albertson’s parking lot--though he thought he had put diesel in it. |

Yeah I'm JIB spark... but as I've found out the JIB means duff all when you're offshore... i'm only 26 myself yeah it's handy to do both the compex and survival... opens a lot of doors once you get the first kick in. also the rope access is a big thing now but it's a tough one physically to do it. testing and inspection is all that you would be doing in Iraq... don't do install it's done by all the indians. |
