Well, when it rains, it pours! I am supposed to have an interview with the hiring manager for a position in Iraq this weekend sometime. In addition, I just found out that I was a finalist for a GS (govie) job -- pending security investigation, poly, and drug test! Wow..... Mona, happy belated birthday! Everyone else, keep plugging away! It will all work out in the end.... |

Hi Barbara Gallagher I have a question for you. I am suposed to come to a June 1st processing for a recovery position and my recruiter is Vannessa. I have tried countless times to reach her but without any luck. My question would be is that particular processing still scheduled and am I on that list? I would still need my MVR check done. The reason I ask is that I currently have a job and I don't want to quit if I will not be processing on the 1st. By the way hello everyone I have been following this forem for a good month now. Happy B-Day Mona. |

I was sent home from Houston after processing, job was closed. No guarantees in this type of work. |

Alcoa, thank you! Good luck to you as well! Switch, yes, my head hurts! I applied for the govie job about 8 months ago. Heck, I just threw away the job description last weekend becuase I thought I was out of the running for it. GO figure, lol! Honestly, I have no idea so I am going to things one day at a time! Carrigon, thank you as well. I am excited that things are moving forward no matter what the turn out may be! I will keep y'all updated! |

BARBARA, Is KBR going to have recovery jobs available eventually? My husband was suppose to get set up for processing for recovery back in feb. and then we didn't hear anything. Its been getting tougher and tougher to get a job in the states, these trucking firms come up with any excuse not to hire someone with experience. nancylee420@hotmail.com |

carrigon in Dover said: can you believe you're finally there? how's your wife doing? sometimes i still can't really believe my husband is there. his first R&R is in 2 weeks so we're about 1/3 done the year already! time's flown by. its 1500 stipend for every four months regardless you take vacation or not. bad part is you either travel by car to kabul airport and fly out of there to dubai and connect to the states and you do not have any security the whole time but kabul seems to be somewhat not the point of attack for taliban, mainly the southern regions. opt.2-$1000 ticket to fly from the base to dubai then pay for ticket from dubai to states, opt. 3 mil air which is not recommended becasue you will get bumped and miss your flight to the states and have to wait to get a visa from kuwait if you ever make it there on mil air. i am paying the $1k option becasue it is a whole lot safer in my opionion and only come out of own pocket of about $500 give or take. living conditions for men right now are tents for new hires and not any hope of getting into a chu anytime soon becasue of all new military personnel coming in. but there is going to be plenty of new construction for baf and kaf. |

Happy B-Day Mona. Do every thing you can to keep your current job. KBR has rescinded and closed jobs on people at last minute.Over 200 of us processed down there last month only to be told our jobs had been rescinded You need to protect yourself from this happening. Their are several of us here it has happened to. You are not guaranteed a job just because you are going to Houston. Things change down there daily. Even the people that work for KBR will tell you that. It would concern me if i couldn't reach my recruiter. They are usually kind and helpful people. Be careful and remember to take care of yourself. |

O my gosh! I got a large six foot plush rose from hubby today for mother’s day. Kids off to volunteer a few hrs at the humane shelter and someone beat at the door–spooked me, went to answer and no one through the peep hole–so peeked around the corner out a window and there was a very very tall box propped up beside the door. |
