We got the same thing for sr. electrician. Make sure you open all documents before you take the time to fill everything out because they send pre salary and at least for electrician we were not impressed at all and are waiting for something better. |

Same to me 102 or 111, damn toasty !!! lol yeah, entire summer last year people would say oh it was 145 in the shade uh no it wasnt. the ambient air temp in iraq ranges from 115 in the north to 120 in the south. feels like temp with sun coming off of pavement etc 145 yes but the actual temp no lol. worlds highest temp ever recorded was 134 degrees in saudi desert and in cali desert. if you ever want to know what the temp is google "hamweather" then where it says zip code put KQTZ that is the official baghdad air force weather current conditions. |

hello all all is good here at baf no news yet on being sent downrange yet. been getting little projects to do but not much enough to stay a little busy through out the day. very windy here also, they call this time of year the season of 120 days of wind. so far not to hot were you can not bare it all. instead of skype you may want to check out oovoo.com. works just like skype but a little better, skype is more crowded with calls. |

Jordan, Patrick, picker, and everyone else that I may have forgotten -- congrats and good luck with your offers and jobs! I finally had my interview for the Iraq position this weekend. I got alot of info and will be standing by if I pass their background. I am also continuing on with my government offer as well, finishing up that mass of paperwork. Gotta run, take care everyone! |

hardy3742 in Edgewater, Florida said: Switch, Here is what I did to avoid that, plan a get together for one night next week. Call everybody you think wants to see him and tell them that is the night for everyone to see him. The rest of the time is reserved for family. You and he will have a good time together with everyone you know for a night, and people will respect your time together for the rest of the time by not swinging by to say hello. Just thought I would share because that really worked for us. Enjoy his time home... |

Looking for insight. A recruiter emailed me about a position his company had on last Saturday. I answered the questions he had, but never heard back from him. Called and he told me he is going through all the emails and would send a confirmation email. I haven't heard back and wondered if any one had the same experience. The company was not KBR. |

But he said the guys who couldn't fall asleep said it was miserable! Do you only get r&r every 6 months...or are you chosing that so you can be home during a specific timeframe? |

It is great that so many of the people that frequent this forum are starting to land positions and are starting to see contact for interviews. I hope that many more of us get these opportunities soon. |

Ksniper777 in San Antonio, Texas said: I have a good friend who is a carpenter do you have any need for them? I would have your friend check the websites of the companies that over in the Middle East they have carpenter positions open. There is a list of some of the companies over there on logcaptalk.com also another site for a list of the contractors is DangerZoneJobs.com but this one charges you a onetime fee to get to the list. Good luck to your friend |

Ksniper, I just looked on the Fluor and IAP websites and at least one of them had a posting for a carpenter and possibly a carpenter foreman. Hope that helps. |

hardy3742 in Edgewater, Florida said: Switch, That was one of my worries when my hubby came home... we had his cell phone account frozen when he first left for Iraq(to save money) and my husband chose not to get it activated when he was home on R&R..so it was nice not to have everyone trying to call him...most of his friends only have his cell....so that was a plus we only had his mom show up unexpected one time(which is a miracle)... another thing that helped for us is that in one of my family updates (I sent email updates 2-3 times a month to friends and family) we invited our family to a party we were having for Jesse... and I added in the invite "that way there is one day set aside for your guys"... I think it made people feel special that we planned a party for 'them' to come see us.. Like I said I thought it was going to be really bad... my sister(she lives a mile away) suggested that if people started coming over at all times to go park our cars at her house...Im glad we didnt have to do that.. :) |

Jesse is one of the ones that CANT sleep on a plane... he hated the traveling also... when he got home for R&R he literally slept for a day and a half before he was back to being a normal human being.. :) |

Hello all, does anyone know how long processing is taking these days with KBR? I hear it used to be about 10 days but now it will probably be quicker because less applicants.... right? Also if theres any Brits out there that have processed, do I need a visa to enter US? my brother went on holiday to Cali 3 weeks ago and they had to fill out something online, my recruiter said i dont need visa so perhaps she registers me online?? and lastly, when will I receive my flight info, I would like to arrange airport transportation with as much notice as possible. |
