Can anyone tell me about any potential passport issues others may have had during processing? Thanks |

Switch - Still waiting on LOA, should find out more info today @ 5pm meeting. JHouston - Possible passport issues - back child support, if you owe taxes, or have a serious criminal record |

Thanks a lot. I do have some child support issues to work out. What happens when you can't get the passport? Do they send you on your way or do the give you some time to work them out? |

My hubby's recruiter told him to list absolutely everything. If it does show up then they will see you are lying and youve blown it. My hubby had a speeding ticket and we put the approx year. No problem. They are looking to get you on the big stuff. |

I am a Paramedic supposed to be stationed at FOB Sharana in the 'stan. Leaving out on the 30th with no word from my recruiter yet either. I believe they are supposed to email your flight itinerary by Thursday but it being a holiday I figure it will be Wednesday or Friday. Maybe I'll see you there! This is my wifes account by the way. |

Your flight itinerary usually ends up in your spam folder. Dont forget to check it. You will not hear from your recruiter usually. A lot of people get it the friday before. I bet you will get it tomorrow because of the holiday. |

yes, he did go. He was so excited. He said they will have concerts every few weeks. He said he was front row and took a bunch of pictures. He is going to load them tomorrow. I was excited too. I hope your hubby can stay there too. Sounds like a very hospitable camp. I guess they have a great gym too. My bf says he is working out everyday. Without being able to drink beer, I bet he will look great in 3 months. I told him to bulk up to catch me because when I see him at the airport, Im coming flying. LOL |

Well hubby is in Dubai! I just got a call from him and looks like he might be staying there for a little while, there seems to be a problem with his LOA. Looks like the person in charge of getting these dropped the ball!! It was funny when I talked to him he actually thought that he had been traveling for 3 days. (He left yesterday!) With the traveling through the time zones he is all screwed up! Hopefully he will be heading to Afghanistan soon. Although he is enjoying the hotel where he is staying he said he is just ready to get to where he is supposed to be working. |
|

do you work for kbr? |
|
Debbie Creery in Gatesville, Texas 42 months ago |
The time zone changes are really hard on our men. It takes mine about three days to feel like he can enjoy his time home. Can't sleep on the planes, can't sleep in Baghdad because of the constant coming and going of people through the room, so they are exhausted when the arrive at home and on the return. Return is the worst if you are not held up in Dubai or Baghdad because you are expected at work the day after your arrival in camp. Hope they get his paperwork fixed. Debbie |

Mine is on his way to London, then he has a 6hour layover then to Dubai? So he should be able to call from Dubai? Good....he hates to fly so I can't wait to talk to him to make sure he's ok. My husband is great, but he really is a man of little words, so when he called earlier I was trying to be positive and supportive and he actually got a little emotional and said "Remember that you are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am doing this for our future".....:) Boy did he get major brownie points for that one! Jjsvmax in Spring - There were 2 of the guys this week that had come in with hubby last week and one is going Wed and the other isn't on the list yet so I think it is hit or miss! |

There are days that I'm going crazy and having to fight hard to keep it together. I've found that if I stay so busy I don't have time to think about how much I miss him. Today has been hard as I've not talked him since he arrived in Istanbul. Time zone is a problem but maybe I will hear from him tomorrow. We will get through this and look back later an appreciate the time we have much more. Debbie |

Ask away on your questions? Me or someone else on the site will answer. We are here to help and to share what we have learned. I probably am more senior then some of the others, as my spouse has been there longer. But mine has only been in 2 camps and the camps vary greatly depending on location. Some have in all and other have nothing. Don't know much about Afganhistan but some on site have people there. Good Luck

He will be able to call only after he buys a calling card. Most of the men there suggested it to mine and he bought one just to call to let me know he arrived there safely. It was only ten minutes but we ran through the kids and was able to talk for a little bit.

Jjsvmax in Spring, Texas said: As I have a right to speak. I think most in this forum are in agreeance that we come here for support and CORRECT information from recruits currently going through the process, NOT some previous employee who has some axe to grind with KBR. Her negativity just get old when you are trying to be positive about the decision that you just made for your family. Have you even been to Iraq? I have been in Baghdad since 2004. I knew Ms Sparky when she first stepped foot in the Green Zone. If it wasn't for her testifying before congress the electricians would still be making our old wage. She has shaken things up and KBR hates that she has her blog and is telling the truth about what is going on. She's not a hand holder. If you need a damn hand holder there are plenty of people here that will do that. If you want the truth then ask her. She has helped a lot of people go to work for KBR. She just wants them to know what the facts are. If there are changes in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because her an others like her have the balls to stand up and say BS. I don't. I'm here strictly for the money. But don't talk about what you don't understand.

You're point was somewhat valid JJ but there is a time and place for everything and this forum isn't the one to spew off negativity about KBR. Most of the people on this forum are wives and people going over for the first time and need questions answered. These women are already on edge playing both parents while they're husbands are working in a war zone. I've done all the training for KBR and they don't sugar coat anything, they make sure you are well aware of what you are getting yourself into and the risk that accompanies it. Now maybe her rhetoric would be more useful if she created her own thread on indeed that people can come to if they choose to hear what you have to say. But shoving you're viewpoints down peoples throats on this thread is just futile and pointless. This forum is basically about family support and people come here to unite and gain comfort and peace of mind from others going through the same situation they are. She have made you're point and the feelings you have for KBR is well known so I don't see the need for her to constantly come over here trying to force feed people advice they didn't ask her for. |
