Well so far he has only had 14 days back in the US, after next week it will be 30 so we will have to wait for Nov. 3rd (anniversary of wheels up with KBR for him to come back on R&R |

Gabriele in Troy, Montana said: Not if you diet sensible Monita. (Madonna song, "La Isla Bonita"' pops into my head now everytime I see your name). I eat lots of different stuff, get plenty full and even snack. Just don't eat certain things I would normally eat while Hubby is home. Fried taters, gravy, real butter on stuff. Basically what I am doing is seeing if I can lower my cholesterol naturally without meds or extra supplements. LOL, so that means instead of inhaling a bag of Lays bbq chips that are always around the house when Fred is home I eat popcorn, apples, some pretzels, fruit. I refuse to totally change how I eat and if anyone or anything gets between me and my chocolate then they do so at their own risk :D. I'll give em the cats, my car,, heck, hit me up on the right day and they can have my kids. Just step away from my chocolate :). Believe it or not I got my cholesterol and BP down by cutting out carbs for two weeks and walking every day. Dropped two pants sizes too. First few days is hard, scrambled eggs, turkey cold cuts, cheese and yogurt. But after a few days i didn't crave crap anymore and then when i started reintroducing carbs, i just have better self control. PS: Vodka doesnt have carbs lol |

Orabella in Florida said: Sandra, you are welcome. It’s a really great site–I hadn’t thought to mention it earlier–I have been sending hubby ecards for some time. As I mentioned, I have tried other sites, but these sites will not always open for him to see the cards ( think it has to do with some of the more funny mature adult content of them). I bought into a subscription with American greetings–for more variety–yesterday, but still waiting to see if these will open for him. It was a free 30 day trial and then 14.99 for a yr subscription to–if it doesn’t work then I am going to cancel my subscription before the 30 day trial is up so I will not be out any money. He sends me ecards too with the123 ecard site. He was in Dubai overnight. He is trygin to find out info for me. This is like (really) starting all over again, but knowing somewhat to expect...lol |

Yes, the kids and I went up last weekend and then I flew up on Thursday, when I found out the he was leaving Friday afternoon. They all have their own rooms. Mine stayed at the Crown Plaza, which was very nice... |

MIne had to be out of country by June 22. He was out on 6/19. If Fluor know that you are limited for time and if they can get their training in, they will really try to get you out, but you have to have at least 13 or 14 days to play with... |

I have always heard how Fluor treats their employees very well...When hubby got off the plane in Dubai and got thru customs, Fluor was there at the passport line calling names. No one had to wait in line, the bypassed the passport line to another place and then were put in a private taxi to the hotel. They guys were staying at the Hawthorne. Near the other hotels that KBR uses. He said that they were all treated with VIP service...what a difference. He still doesn't know where he will be going execpt that it is in the sounthern part near Kandahar.I know that they are building 8 new FOB's, so he thinks that is where he will be. Each task order is a different place in Afghan. Not sure if he will stop over in Kandahar 1st....They don't give much info on where they will put you....They are in the learning stages too. |

Just being treated like a human and not cattle would be terrific! ha ha How long was he actually in SC? Was processing there similar to what the do in Houston...medical, etc? And do they do trades training in SC...or do they do that once in theatre like KBR does? |

Going to Walmart today,, lol you all know that means I won't be on for most of the day. Tried getting what he needs at our local pamida (shopko's answer for department store in the sticks) in the next town, ha. They have about as much as hubbys px on his base.. Wait he doesn't have a px... and pamida doesn't ever have anything in stock either, So about the same as none existing px. Crazy, they have 2 sizes of underwear and tshirts for men. extra small and extra big. You all enjoy your day,

It was sad to leave him again but we are up to it. His flight over was delayed in Memphis and they ended up having to be put up in hotel overnight so he's a day late arriving in Doha. But he said the break in flying on a plane was good. The processing in Panama City was great, only one long day. Sunday 8-11:30 medical at walk in clinic
Had a great time in Panama City, single rooms, rental car, per diem for meals, free pair of boot, uniforms will be in Balad when they arrive and plenty of free time. So far this company rocks, short days, short processing, and very respectful to new employees. Stated over and over they want employees to continue employment for a career, if tired with war zone they have thousands of contracts all over the world and state side they can transfer to. Money will not be as good as Iraq but better then he can make here at home. Hopefully it all remains good, after KBR we are keeping our eyes wide open.LOL Debbie |
