JW Turner there are tens of thousands of troops in Baghdad as I write this. I eat breakfast lunch and dinner with them every day. There seem to be just as many Department of Defense Personnal (CIA, FBI, Intelligance officials) over here as well. And don't forget about the contractors. We are supporting many, many people.

Oh I forgot, If you're asking this question because you heard that the U.S. pulled out all troops from the major cities on June 30th. For whatever reason the Victory Base Complex in Baghdad is the exception to the rule. Go figure.

As I understand it, they pulled out combat troops...but there are lots of other troops there doing other functions.

Erick:
I'm pretty much a straight forward man with good intentions. Fact is, I have noted in your previous posts on this forum dating back a few weeks that you have some trouble with the US Federal SF-85P background check. I'm not about to inquire or become involved in your business relative to that issue. If you do not clear up your past issues relative to the SF-85P US Federal Government background check, there will not be a company that will hire you in the security field for overseas defense contract work. Simply put, there is no way around the government mandate. What I can do to help you is, give you a pasted link below from "wikipedia" listing various security companies operating in the ITO and the ATO, simply scroll down. You may have to copy and paste the link on your browser. Best of luck to you, God Spee. :)

LostOnIndeed in Sad said: Hi everyone,

I have been reading the forum for 7 month now, got to say though that in the last few weeks it has gone crazy here. The regulars might spat now and again, but then go on to helping people both looking for jobs, and support for those left behind to hold down the home.

It doesn't seem right to call someone a bully if you turn around and do the same thing. Some people seem to come on only if there is controversy to egg it on and spiral it out of control.

I have learned alot from the regulars on here, both by reading as the posts where done and by reading back through the previous pages. It's really not that hard to do. If you really want to find out something then just type in KBR and whatever you were looking for (Thank you Gabriele for that little tidbit). I was going to start posting but with the new people coming on here and starting things,, think I'll just have my say now and leave it be.

Thanks for your input and support for the help that is given here.

Sorry for the delayed response, I'm rather busy multi-tasking here at home and cooking for my family this evening. I was not trying to knock you down in anyway, just simply being brutally honest about the issue. Being prior military, we have a habit of simply getting to the point in a problem at hand and coming with up a solution to the problem soonest. If I have offended you, that was not my intent my sincere apologies, my best wishes to you, and all the luck in the world to you on your endeavors. :)

Say, if you come across some open security slots in the civilian support sector in Afghanistan or Iraq please let me know. Like I mentioned before, I'm a 20% disabled combat vet from the ITO 2006 and still able to perform said duties. During my homecoming from the war, I was given two choices to fix the problem, surgery or physical therapy by the VA. I chose physical therapy instead. I reckon, I'm much too young to have medical cutting on my backside. I have 10 years plus experience including management, and from my previous posts on this forum, you have a accurate account of my professional background. Best wishes, and have a great day there in the sandbox. :)

Nashville Kat in Nashville, Tennessee said: Good Morning All!
I am just running thru this morning. Jimmy (aka the old goat) will be home in about 10 days! WOOO HOOO! So, needless to say I have a ton of stuff to do.
I talked to him this morning and he's kinda worn down because of the heat and other crap, but really looking forward to coming home.

Mona, you are going to laugh, but guess where Jimmy wants to eat when he gets in??
Waffle House! too funny! I just had to LMAO because I can remember that's what your hubby wanted also. Wonder that the deal is with the Waffle House?

And I hate to say it, but i think that my time on the forum is drawing soon to a close. I have learned alot from everybody here. And the support I have recieved has been excellant. I hope that at sometime or another, I have been able to give back at least some of the knowledge that I have gleaned from the more learned members. But there seems to be a new breed of newbie's that think that they know more than most. And it have become painfully obvious that they suffer from some sort of deep seated need to feel or be superior to others that post on the forum.

So, to all those that I feel are my "KBR forum friends", I wish you all the best!
Mona, KoKo, Hazel,Gabi and Little Sister......ya'll are great. TStorm, Debbie, and of course JHT....ya'll have been a vast wealth of knowledge, more than you'll know. Walter, you are priceless!

Catch you all later!

I will miss you. Thank you for helping me. My brother is doing well and happy for the opportunity to provide for the family.
The board was a source of comfort in the past..but has somehow become a source of stress for me. It's not my place to comment on the ruckus..but I wish it would just go away. I mean no disrespect to anyone.

I know this question has been asked a million times on here, but can somebody help me with providing the contact information for a recruiter for KBR, DynCorp, Honeywell, anybody? I'm getting ready to seperate from the Army with an Honorable Discharge, have spent over 2.5 years of my life in Iraq or Afghanistan and cannot land one logistics job over there, most that I'm overqualified for. Pre-Army, I was a student aid, helped build resumes', so I know it's not that, I don't have a clue what I'm doing wrong. Anyway, my email address is keystone5607 @ yahoo . Any help is appreciated, God bless.

Anyway, that's my rant over!!
My husband is hopefully coming back home in 3 weeks, him and his friend are hoping to demob, his R&R isn't until October but hopefully he has a job in England in Sept/Oct.

JDCS & Carrigon, Ok how kewl is that that your men got to meet!!!!! =)

Walter, have your wife check on ebay for used txt books too or Half.com. Just have her make sure they are up to date with the correct ISBN code.

Erick, Fluor won the task order 5 for logcap IV, for Northern Afghanistan

( Dyno got Sourthern) and Bagram is located in the North. So it seems most likely Fluor will be running the show there eventually--but keep in mind the transition could be mths off.
