Bridget S in Stockton, Kansas said: My husband was a mechanic last time he went over if anyone has a recruiter for that let me know. I have applied for many mechanic positions with nothing! Ugh so frustrating knowing he can do it and wants to do it. I do know for sure that there are wives of some mechanics on this board. Thats why I wanted to have you put their positions out there. Hopefully now someone can help.

I have a question tat maybe someone can answer. If there are jobs posted on the KBR website for instance, does that actually mean that the position is available? How long after a position is filled before they remove the advertisement? Thanks in advance. |

Quite tonight. I really dont know nick im new to this too. I cant believe how long it takes to hear from someone. I keep applying for the jobs daily and hope that one of the recruiters will at least read my resume. |

I applied for over 9 months before I was hired. Leaving on the 27 of OCT. You have to be very detailed with yo resume. Don't leave anything out that makes yu qualified for the position. This was Barbara's suggestion and it worked for me. |

LA Bayou Girl in Louisiana said: NEED SOME INFORMATION!!!!! Are all of you folks that have been hired by KBR lately doing it thru the website or has it been the result of corrsponding with recrutiers????? My husband has been doing both but has still had no contact from anyone. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. KBR is going to have VERY limited contracts anywhere. You need to spend your time with the many other contractors. There are nearly 500 in the middle east, wether sub or prime. Kno your field of extpertise, target those companes that ave that market. Find out what service branch they work for and where. While the money In Iraq and Afghanistan is good, it will blind yo to the conditions and reality of war. It is no game and not just another job. Do your homework. |

Bridget S in Stockton, Kansas said: I tried Lynda.Aldrich@iapws.com and it said postmaster delivery failure. Maybe I didnt do the right address??? case sensative, look at Luanes address, follow it precisely for format.
If you have not completed the online resume, application, etc., no one will speak to you from any company. |

LA Bayou Girl in Louisiana said: My husband is beginning to get very frustrted about not working. He was just so sure when he came home it would not be a big deal to go back to work over there. When he came home he just needed a break. He had been over there 3 years. That is a long time to be away from your family. It is just hard to watch his growing frustration with the situtation everyday. About 8 weeks ago someone posted a list of recruites for Dyncorp. There is a Jimmy Flaggerty at Fluor but he never replied to my inquiries either. Recruiters just don't. I understand Dyn and Fuor will be letting loose in November - December with the transitions from KBR in Iraq and Afghanistan. |

Orabella in Florida said: Hi Carrigon--New baby–bebe-- is doing well–she is 3 wks today and a little doll. Boobah is doing fine as well–missing grandpa though, but got to talk to him today–first time while he’s been in Afghanistan. Set her loose with the cell phone with speaker on and she told him she loved then talk up a blue steak to him–we couldn’t really translate--then oddly she punctuated her conversation with a “help”–so I suspect she had a laundry list complaints what with him not being here. LOL too cute! hope she can skype with him soon! have you started planning his next r&r? i know it's busy, but isn't it a lot of fun having a new baby in the house? ;) |

Yeah it's been that way because they don't have so many people processing anymore. You didn't say your Dad was there! Good for him! It's always been across from Hilton I thought, just everyone didn't get to stay there because there were so many. Good for Dad! |

Still waiting, I also made some contact with a person that works for KBR as a HR, he asked for my resume and I waiting to see what he says. |
