theo2009 said: Can any active KBR employee tell me where the RnR flight connection will be? Dubai or Abu Dhabi? Anyone take a connection to Bangkok? Prices? My hubby is in Iraq. He starts his R&R from Dubai and always has done. Some people do go to Bangkok for their R&R, not usually the married ones lol |

My hubby took his laptop back from R$R. Lots of people take their laptops with them or have them shipped. Thanks for your quick response!! |

I know several project managers on Aecom jobs in Iraq, and they are in no way affiliated with Fluor. Different companys. Thats not to say one may not sub out work to the other, but as far as I know they are not connected. |

Not sure when they are going to switch but it is in the works. yes they have several package i used the 128kb for 88 per month or you can get weekly and daily but you come better by going with the month plan. Just my 5 cents. This is a question for the other forum though. |

Job related Q. Seen the Converse boots mentioned for Iraq. Are they recommended for AF? Composite toe or no? Can we get the Desert Tan? or does it have to be black to be different than the troops. Thanks! Also are they pretty good with the sizing? If he wears 11.5 normally...get an 11.5 for the Converse? Thanks |

My husband works for KBR and is located in Bagram also. He's been there about a week or so. He flew out of Houston Nov. 6th. This is his second time overseas working for KBR, the last time was 5 years ago. |

But his lunch and dinner are within the 12 hour day that he's on the clock. My husband has also requested an electric blanket. He said it is about to get really cold and snowing there. I got his APO address today and will be picking up some odds and end things he requested to send out in the next few days. |

Gabriele in Troy, Montana said: Ksniper, is that the price of the ticket if you buy it yourself? or if KBR buys it? That is if KBR buys it for you because if something goes wrong or there is a flight delay they rebook the flight at no cost or if they decide to stop flying SKYLINK issues then if you bought you ticket you have to pay to rebook if you don't have insurance or if they cancel your R&R due to mission needs. So i would have KBR buy my ticket in case it goes south. |

socalna in west coast, California said: They say there not but when you google aecom it says that they are. Dont know how they can say that. I applied for a Fluor job, when I was working on a Aecom job. HR with Aecom had nothing to do with Fuor. Who knows, everybody is trying to jump on the money wagon over there. I do know this, Flour is one of the top paying companys, and Aecom is probably the lowest, as far as electricians go. |
|
james 1234 in Arden, North Carolina 30 months ago |
aecom is lower...but fluor in most of its requirement listings want LOGCAP experience. |

Gabriele in Troy, Montana said: Ksniper, is that the price of the ticket if you buy it yourself? or if KBR buys it? I can add...that I had checked online for a ticket that was ~$1100 to the states, KBR bought it and their cost was ~$1400, after inquiry at travel, I was told that I actually must pay for the insurance to cover any future change costs even though it's really out of my hands to make it from theater to the point of departure, once there, I can see the responsibility if I miss my flight, however, most delays are caused by internal flight delays by weather or other reasons. So you foot the extra $300 or so to pay the insurance. I believe it is because of a lot of vacationers were inebriated and missing their flights at the point of departure. If you purchase your own ticket and wish to be reimbursed, you must produce a ticket stub, a lot of employees were cashing their tickets in and partying in Dubai with the money. |

Yeah, I'm on track with the time- PST is -8GMT and schedule says 13:00-15:00GMT so should be 05:00-07:00 here. Right? I'm not to shabby with math but... This has me banging my head on the wall. |

Yeah, I received an email from Fluor as well talking about review, etc. Have taken medical and dental exams for AECOM supposedly for Dec. 3 in Ft. Worth but haven't heard back from them (emaled and called yesterday for status update). The link is "workatfluor.com/ro". It's supsed to be an opportunity to get some "virtual" face time with a recruiter. I have yet to be able to get in. |

For KBR, if you are trying to get a job along with a spouse/friend do they take that into consideration? How difficult is it to try to at least get the same Country/area with that person? Also if say you both apply at the same time, what are the chances that you will get a job and leave around the same time? |

If someone has been a firefighter, fire marshal for the past 5 years as well as EMT experience (and still works part-time in a hospital) will the recruiters place them in a fire position or medical position? does anyone know about fire fighting in Afghanistan? |

I tried too 1300 gmt is 3am here so I kept logging in till 3:20 only to get the no recruiter message so I gave up. I assumed the thing got canceled so I went back to sleep. I tried again at 6:20 and got someone a recruiter who apologized for my problem but, the site was closed and suggested trying again next time. I guess the site gets slammed with too many hits and over loads? |
