Things will be hectic and you won't want to deal with the problems, just know that we are here for you and are going through similar situations. |

Had to call the mnumber Im sorry to hear that you are having a bad day. You will get through it. It seems that everything goes wrong just before they leave. My neighbour ran over our water line and water was flying everywhere in our front yard, i just stood there with my mouth open and called hubby to come home. Then the septic backed up, then the air conditioner got clogged and soaked my daughters carpet. This all happened the week before he left and i said exactly the same thing. You cant go, i can cope... But you know we can and it will be o.k. We are stronger than we think we are... Cheer up it will be o.k. |

that is the last text message i got from my husband before he boarded his plane in Houston...it said "Remember, you are stronger than you think you are and I love you!" I saved it in my phone and look at it every now and then for encouragemetnt. My current problem is that i am sure my little girls must really not like me right now...they can't figure out why their daddy is gone and they are making me pay for it! All my hair is about to fall out! |

I know exactly how you feel. I hate every minute of him being gone. When we dropped him off at the airport I had my mom take me back twice because i was going to run in and tell him to stay. Its hard but i have to be strong. We need to do this there isnt any other option right now. Not a minute goes by that i dont think to myself "why am i doing this?" " i hate this" " come home please". I have learned not to voice that to him all the time because it makes it a hundred times worse for him. He doesnt want to go either. I try not to count the day or think to myself he has been gone now for 13 days. I have 120 or more to go before I see him again. Then I have to after 10 very short days let go of him again. So yes, I understand completely I wish i could make you feel better or have some magical saying to tell you. But, I dont. I will say finding something to keep your mind busy helps. Maybe a hobby or something. Hugs to you.. Jenny |

You should have enough money to cover basic needs. The van starts picking up around 3:30 a.m. to take everyone to training building. They serve all three meals there, 7 days a week. The area where the hotels are is not a place to be walking around after dark, a little rough. Classes and vans run again in the evening around 7:00 p.m. Not much time for anything but classes, eating and sleeping. Usually time frame in Houston is 6 days at the earliest but could be 14 days. If problem with any paperwork it could delay stay. Some guys will hang out in the bars in hotels but not much else to do. Debbie |

Ive got a question for you all or anyone that has been sending packages over. My daughter spent the night at a friends house and has been baking for her daddy. She has come home with a pile of choc chip cookies and fudge and is wanting to send them to him.If i send them and it takes 2 weeks wont they be bad? Do i have to send them express or something ? How do i wrap them, in foil with a slice of bread? She has worked so hard on them but im not sure how to do it. Anyone help? |

Switch, Thats a tough call your package can take anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks. I dont know what the time frame on fudge and cookies is. If they can last that long then I say send it but i really dont know. I know Im not much help LOL. |
|

I think they will be just fine. I would wrap them individually and them put them in a tin or hard plastic storage container. I would start by sending a small tin and see how it arrives, no use spending alot on shipping if they are not going to get there safely. Then if hubby says they arrived ready to eat, then you know your good to go. |

Go buy some metal Christmas tins at Wal Mart. Then layer the fudge and cookies with wax paper between layer. I send boxes of chocolate, cookies, etc. all the time. Pack your box that you put them in with a little bubble wrap so that the tin won't move around. They should arrive in fine shape. Debbie |
|
Debbie Creery in Gatesville, Texas 42 months ago |
At Wal Mart you can buy vac seal ziploc bag. It has a hole at the top of bag and you use the small vac that you buy with the bags and it works really well. Debbie |

Sending the next one so we will see how long it takes~What about putting a piece of an apple in it to keep it fresh? I thought I had read that someplace but Martha Stewart/Rachel Ray I am not lol! It sounds as if we are ALL settled into some sort of routine which is good! We picked his R&R and he will be home for Easter. We are going to do the 2nd R&R out of country, but for now I am counting down until 4/1~I hope everyone has a good day, off to go buy Chris a new iPod and download the music before I go to work so I can send it out tomorrow! Have a good day all! |
