I only got one call from Alan when he arrived in Dubai. He was in the Air and only stopped in Baghdad before being sent to his base no time for calls or nothing, so keep the Faith. He'll call when he can. He wants to hear your voice as bad as you want to hear his.

Hello all I have found this forum to be very hekpful. I recieved my new employee welcome packet two days ago. I have scheduled my WABI and faxed my DD214 paperwork. My only concern is that I have not received my backround check email. How long does this usually take. Also I noticed some of you are from the same area. Can anyone recommend a dentist for the sign off in the Killeen, Austin, Waco TX area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Leanne-it will get easier... I think your husband is in the group that mine is waiting for.. They haventbegun training.. He's in Baghdad already and they havent done much other than explore the base.. they check in once a day to make sure they are all accounted for and they dont have to report until later in the day or the next day.. JDC keeps saying they're waiting for more guys to begin training..

Also... he missed the Kid Rock concert.. him and the guys tried to go but the bus they had to catch was full and they didnt fit..

Corey.. My hubby didnt get his background check email until we sent back the paperwork from the hiring packet.. he's an electrician so they waived the wabi and the Dental... But I still made him get a check up so he had his dentist fill it out anyways.. do you have a family dentist?? I recommend you get a check up anyway since you will be gone for a while..

I know how you feel.. I have been doing well and keeping myself busy.. Im a school teacher so we have a lot fun stuff going on right now.. plus our little girl has her first recital tomorrow so between rehearsals and getting her costume ready...but I feel lonely at night light most of you do. ..

My hubby has been working away from home since Jan of this year.. he was up in Vegas and coming home on the weekends.. I felt the way you are feeling when he was first up in Vegas.... I literally was moping around until Friday when he was going to come back home...

I really think God prepared me for the distance... its only been 2 weeks that he has been gone but Im doing okay .. I have my moments but I shake it off and try to think of something else and keep myself busy...or get in the forum and just type away...

My hubby left arrived in Houston on Dec 7th and made it out the following Sunday for Dubai/Iraq.. he's been there since Monday..

I guess they were trying to rush out the Electricians ... Im glad he's waiting for the training in Iraq and not in Houston.. He was hating the waiting he did ...So I can just imagine how frustrating it must be to be there longer...

Oh okay so is your daughter Futuretimes?

I received my new employee welcome packet two days ago. I did my dental exam and faxed the dental signed form by the dentist together with my military service verification and DD214. I'm scheduled to do the WABI exam today. However my concern is about Accurate Background Packet because i have not receive anything yet when I'm suppose to receive it at least yesterday. How long does this usually take. I left voice messages and email to my recruiter but i have not heard from him for two days now. What should I do next? For the background check do they check for your credit card report as well? Does my bad credit affects my background? Also do you guys have any help for the wabi exam? Thanks in advance.

I dont think that bad credit will affect your background, most people going over there have some financial issues. Child Support might show up, not sure about that one. Anyway you cant get a passport if you owe child support.

Hi All: WOW what a day we have got about 15 inches of snow and another one coming in tomorrow night, It is unreal here. All
the flights in the nothern half of us are canceled. Rick finally got his desert boots, converse, they are real nice ones. Guys: Backgroung check comes later and then they send the results to recuiter and they
will e-mail you saying all is ok. It took Rick about 2 weeks
before they contacted him. and then another week for ins and
4 sheets of personal information. It takes a lot of time and paperwork
you will get e-mails all the time, ALSO, check your spam too!!
sometimes it can go there.

I am a TPU soldier with the US Army and was wondering, if I get a job offer from KBR how would I do my drills with the reserves?
I was on active duty for over three years before signing up with the reserves. I've been unemployed since I left active duty May of this year, Ive applied to various jobs but not able to land one yet. I am thinking of going back to active duty due to financial hardship.
Would I be able to drill overseas while on a contract with KBR? Is this even possible?
Thank you

Stacy ..I think this would be a question that you would ask which ever branch of the reserves you are with.. Im not sure what type of position you would be seeking with KBR but my husband went over as an electrician and they will be working 7/12s so Im not sure how much free time you would have to do fulfill your responsibility for the reserves..

Hello. My Mom is Leanne and my Dad is Ken. He called from Iraq last night. 8 hours time difference so it was 4:00 in the morning for him. He was in good spirits though. He is at Camp Speicher right now. As we learned on the forum, where he was going was changed a couple of times. Looked the camp up online and it seems like a camp with tons of amenities. His job also got changed but he says he likes it. Still hard with him so far away and the Christmas holiday arriving. My husband, Kevin just finished up processing in Houston yesterday. His name is Kevin. He is supposed to go to a camp in Tallil. Not sure of the name of the camp. He is unsure when his class will be out of Houston. Not many made it through processing. About 270 out of about 400. I guess there are probs getting flights out. All is well though, today I am going to overnight him a christmas care package to Houston as he believes he will be in Houston for the holiday. Any updates and info I get on either I will be sure to post so y'all know. Take care and Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

Just use common sense and truthful answers and you should do fine on the WABI. Keep calling your recruiter about background check, it has nothing to do with your credit report only criminal background.

Debbie would I be able to get your address.. I would like to send you a Christmas card.. it might get there a little late but just wanted to say thanks for everything... the information that you have provided for us has made me feel so good about this entire process.. It us true.. your name is brought up all the time.. JEsse said that he met a guy that for some reason he was never able to post his comments but he reads every post...and when they were talking they did the same.. Well..debbie said this...and debbie said that.. and Switch's husband is waiting to hear here he goes..but debbie said its normal...etc... :)

Jess has been calling for an entire week, still with his first $5 calling card... We'll see how those work when he begins work ....if they're enough minutes, then we'll just stick with those..

Gotta go and start my day.. Jazmin has her Recital today and I volunteered to be backstage with the little girls.. I will be exhausted!!
