Gregg Pryor in Dade, Florida said: The only jobs that I am aware of for KBR (contract wise) is the DoS contract which has a ceiling on the number of foreigners employed. Bare minimum at most. Otherwise, I think KBR is pretty much out of the game for anything in IQ...

There are others that are coming on line sir. I don't know everything but there folks who claim to hire and know everything.

What if any effects will the US pulling out of Iraq have on Logcap now?

I am working here at the command center and I really want to know where you are getting your information from? We have already laid out all the planes for closures, identified the stay behind personnel and to this "dream" of other things coming on line just plainly perplexes me. You must be a newbie from Houston and being told a line of BS by a supervisor trying to keep you from jumping ship before you can. I really am curious to thje info and source of your info.

Not naive just on the ground unlike you command center yeah right. You guys are trying to drive the ship from the Green zone or whereever you may say to be. No not a newbie but someone with some sense unlike yourself. You speak like you are running things. If you come over here and get your boots dirty you might find out a thing or 2. Not giving you my source of information. Last thing, no my supervisor has given a line of dung unlike yourself. Keep believing what they are giving you, if the time lines are changing as fast as wind blows. How would know about who is staying and who's going. Keep trying sell that line of junk to somebody else who believes you. Not me buddy!!!!

Of course i see how people are headed for the exit because they have other offers. Yes i know the Descope has begun and at an even faster pace. I may not be in the sand at the moment but i do know what's going on. More that 50 if the charter or transportation was more reliable it would be more. No sorry not going to any hill, long way from Texas. Before you know it you will be one of those 50 per day.

Pat, I am leaving, voluntarily I might add, after seven +years over here. I don't know where you are but it apparently is not in country and I doubt you would ever be invited back. Yes, I was orginally leaving in Nov however, will stay around until the Dec time frame as I was asked to. No one has other offers....they are going home and there is panic all around for some. I highly doubt you'll ever be coming back here or elsewhere with the attitude naivety you have displayed. Good luck anyways

oh i guess you figure i could not come back. Well you don't really know who you are talking to but for GP i will just tell you this much. I come and go as needed. Well i am not as doom and gloom as you are. I was asked to stay but i was needed at home. If that is case of not being asked back then, why would they be calling weekly wanting me to come back? Anyway, good luck to you future opportunities. Maybe if you check the way you talk to people you would probably be picked up by LC IV. Think about it who you have ticked off and that is the reason you are leaving in December or possible earlier. Good Luck to you too. Another thing if you were not blogging instead of doing you job you would not have any issues.

I am also going over to another project with KBR in another foreign region of the world...where all these "new jobs" coming on-line are - few and far between for laborers like your self and I don't mean that in a disrespectful tone however, you have proven yourself as a, what we KBR vets call..."idiots". I highly doubt we will meet up unless I stop by home.

I'm confused, why start processing and then withdraw an offer, due to drawdown? I'm not familiar with IQ, or DOS terms. Are they hiring for LOGCAP IV. The offer they withdrew was for LOGCAP III, and that is just strange to me. All of this happend two weeks ago.

did you withdraw an offer with kbr.i just thought that they would not leave iq right away. they are going to need somebody over there to keep maintenance on the bases that are not closing. because everybody is jumping ship from what i have been reading. maybe i am just taking it wrong.i am waiting on fav. adj. with fluor. if that don`t work out i am going to try KBR or DYNCORP. I am going to work for one of them.

Very interesting comments over the last 6 months! I was in Iraq, then spent the last year in Afghanistan, but I have the bug after being home for 6 months, not so much to be herded and sequestered in FOB's etc...But I'm sure some can agree, it's like a drug!! I have the itch again. I came home to a good job (luckily) but I started looking 2 months before I made the decision to demob after 2 years, but I'm restless!! I need any info you guys or gals have on ITT in Qatar, I was contacted recently by the recruiter, then the in country manager, but would like some inside info before I take it further, so far it's just been emails,It's for a supervisory position but I'm sure the pay is less, any idea on the living conditions, R&R's, where and how you deploy from the states? I think this could be a fun deployment, with the ability to roam the cities and towns, and take in the culture. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I have been on and off since 2007, and the bug may be back!!

Hey pit viper, I know K sniper very well, we worked together in Iraq, I was wondering where he vanished to, he feel off the earth, I'm glad he's well, like him this S#$T is addictive!

Thanks!

Candy corn, not a chance anyone will give you the zip, sorry thats opsec.

To all looking for employment, KBR is not hiring from outside for the new contract, unless its some specialty they need. They are sending people home daily, I am in country currently. All hiring is done from within, they have most all hires preselected and are giving contracts daily, they have already issued over 1,000. Try with Dyncorp or Flour in Afghan, or others. Most contracts are paying less, so the glory days are pretty much over, unless you have a specialty skill set. The DOS contract is paying much less, its not worth a lot of peoples time to be away from family in a war zone for $70,000 a year.

Girl, I think he was trying to tell you postal services are over with. Everyone in country knows about it. Didn't your husband tell you? My Husband is on the closeout teams and first Prosperity is gone and over with it. I think, I don't believe it was KSNIPE, but USMI who said your husband might not be telling you everything you need to know. I think, he meant or she for that matter, is he's not in country anymore and hanging out in another country. Who really knows anymore. So many contractors are leaving or so I'm told by people in country it's mind boggling...

Your really not that naive are you? Your husband would have already been informed if he's on the stay behind DoS contract. Which is highly doubtful form the way you have asked your questions. There is less than 500 U.S. personnel staying behind and those are seeing their slaries decrease by over 60% Most are not willing to even stay on for the new living conditions, statements of work and lack of protection being affored. Greetings from Annex Prosperity.

Prosperity is not going away. As a matter of fact it is the SCW
main hub of the Green Zone.

There are closer to 2000 DOS Logcap IV KBR employees than 500.
And as a matter of fact the salaries are being cut at a rate
closer to 10% than 60%

Just wanted to straighten out the misconceptions.

Not sure why you are accusing me of being rude to you since it has been awhile since i logged in. Pit just called me and said need to address an issue. Reading back at what you have written asking for a zip code is a OPSEC violation. If your loved one has not provided that information to you then asking for it on an unsecured forum is not a good idea. If i need to start deleting post i will. Thank you for your question.

You are going to need to broaden your company search, KBR's share of the contracting world has significantly decreased in the last couple of years. Fluor, DynCorp, Honeywell hold sizabele contracts, you may want to apply with them also.

there are a few contract companies that pay a little more starting out, but the chance for advancement and to make it a career are very slim with those other companies.

I am making almost $165,000 a year and work 8 weeks on 18 days off. I defie anyone to tell me that is not a good job.
