"HazMatts_Wife in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma"]I just want to share a personal thought. Knowing that my husband is going to be gone for a while is hard. But looking at it in the long term sense.... it makes it all worthwhile. We have a 4 year old and 1 year old. And DH is usually working a 15/6. He's never home. I miss him terribly, and things are a little more difficult without him here.. but the kids and I are getting on our own schedule. Which makes things easier. I just keep telling myself that in the next year or two, we will be completely debt free, and own our home flat out. While our kids are still young, we'll be able to stash back money, take family vacations, and do things together that we may not otherwise get to do. And when he gets back, he can work a 9-5 simple job. He'll be around more for the kids, and be able to attend all their school functions... It will be really nice. And for those that have older kids, you can help buy their first car. Take a big family vacation to Disney World or etc. It is one heck of a risk. And really scary, and sometimes a little lonely with noone to talk to, but it is also one heck of an opportunity.... especially with the way the economy is.... I am very proud of my husband.. and everyone else who is doing this for their families..... along with all our soldiers who are/have been overseas. It is very stressful and difficult, and as much as I adore my wonderful husband... I don't want him to go... But I know that he is doing what is best for us, so I just smile and give him my support. I think I can handle giving up a year or two... We'll have the rest of our lives to make that up." Hazmatt's- I could not have said it any better myself!! We are living the exact same way. I just got off the phone with my Mom with this exact explanation and she did not understand why I would let my hubby go. She said, "what about the kids?" |

DH papers said collared shirts.. So he packed all the ones that he had... He also took a few regular T-Shirts and a couple Long Sleeve Shirts too though. He doesn't have a whole lot of clothes... That would be my issue... lol |

I just really need to get past what everyone else is saying. In the back of my mind my thought is how can they all be wrong. It is taking a lot for me to not tell them all where to go. Though I know it is out of love, can't they tell this is very hard on me already? My husband is a very sensible person and everyone knows that. Why can't they trust that he is doing what he feels is necessary for his family. Urgh! I am sure they will come around eventually but I need them to do it now. Fattsboy- From the packet of info I read through last night, only certain jobs are required to wear collared shirts. All supervisors, leads, managers, etc have to regardless. I know that tradesmen, food service and I want to say drivers can wear uncollared shirts. You may want to sift through your packet of info or call you recruiter for confirmation. |

OHH yes, I looked and research on the internet, and I tried to do it myself, and what I ended up was a mess. And Jimbo wasn't much of a help either. He'd ramble on and on and I was trying to think and type and keep my cool. And only because he just doesn't understand that in this day and time, a resume is what gets you in the front door. He was getting frustrated and I was about to strangle him. Yes, it's expensive and we might have overpaid, but if it doesn't help with KBR, then it will on down the line with another company. And I should add it's not only a resume, but cover sheet and reference/creditials sheet. I don't feel like it's a rip because he really seemed to enjoy the experience. If he doesn't go to work soon, he'll drive me crazy. sign me now,

Ms. Shocker... I understand... lol. What about the kids? We're doing this (or our hubbys are) to provide a much better future for ourselves and our kids and be a stronger, closer family. She'll see eventually... :) Dan87... My husband took 150 dollars with him... just in case he needed something. The lady told him he wouldn't need more than maybe 100. He's been too busy to do any spending anyways.... And from what I've been told they are getting them shipped out as quick as they come in... DH will be there for maybe 6-9 days.... So I wouldn't worry about bringing too much. You'll be too busy to need anything... and its all paid for anyways.. meals included. |

You are exactly right! She ask him the right questions and he gave her the right answers. And the sad thing, he is a very intelligent and articulate person, but he couldn't write it for him self. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money! Kathy |

He was given $500 before leaving Houston.. he hasnt spent much in Iraq either.. he has about $400 left from that.. dont forget your blank check for direct deposit |

DH took jeans too. The dress code for the most part.. (at least I think) is pretty laid back. There are such rules about rips, and not wearing certain colors/advertising though. But that's any job. lol |

I was wondering for the males that went through the processing. Do you really need to shave your facial hair excluding a mustache? I've been having to shave my goatee for six years being in the Air Force and now that I don't have it I get to have my goatee back! Does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks |

No one understands how someone so sensible, would WILLFULLY put his life in danger.. lol. My hubbys family has been asking him to reconsider, (he already has a younger brother on his third tour... in the army) and his dad keeps trying to "warn" us about all the negative things... lol. But they respect his decision, and now that he is gone, they've left that subject alone. Now they just ask if I've heard from him, and how he's doing..... They'll calm down eventually (unless they're crazy.. haha.. just kidding)... and the time will go by so fast.. Since DH left, things have been so crazy.... getting things done, doing things around the house.... I've been getting up around 7 and going to bed around 12am. And still have things to do..... I have a long to do list for myself while hubbys gone. Declutter every room in the house. After I put the kids to bed. I figure I'll work on one room a night.. lol.. maybe... haha. Maybe put some fresh paint on the walls. Scrap the popcorn off the ceiling.... lol.. and other stuff.. Right now though, I don't need any help keeping busy.. haha.. It's best to get this out of the way while the kiddos are young too!! My kids haven't really asked about their dad.. They've been so busy playing and etc.. they haven't really thought about it... I think it hasn't hit them because they are so young.. |

Brandon Godfrey in Springfield, Georgia said: Really!!! so im good i just need to wait on my e ticket? Yes, congratulations! I have saved your CMTS number in my system and just as soon as your flight itinerary comes through I will send you a copy just for your personal use. The flight deptartment typically doesn't email the hard copy to you until 1-2 days before your flight. Naturally, I am able to get this information quicker and I will let you know so you can prepare and know terminal/time, etc. Journee Jones |

The form in my packet pertaining to past military is the only one I didn't fill out as I have never been in the military, is that OK? |

sounds Great!! are you a Recruiter with KBR? My recruiter told me that i will recieve an itinerary on the 16th, do you know a time they usually come through? |
|
JourneeJones-KBR in Houston, Texas 41 months ago |
No, thats not ok! That can put you in disqualification status. You must read your packet fully, that military letter states even if you have not been in the military you are REQUIRED to fill it out, sign it and get it faxed to the number at the bottom of the page. I would get that done ASAP. Hope this helps! Journee Jones |

I am a KBR researcher, all resumes go through my team before they are sent to recruiter for processing. Just in case something else is needed, for instance truck drivers, I need a faxed copy of their CDL and DOT card before a recruiter will even work with them...
