My husband is currently filing his taxes and as of this moment it stating we owe. He have not sent anything off yet, but I was just wondering if anyone is in the pickle? I have a friend who said we could use thier accountant as they don't have thier problem, however I just want to know how to go about it. From what I was told the KBR employees only had to use thier contract to get out of paying taxes which is why we did not have taxes taken out of my husband's check in the first place.

Depending on how long your husband has been overseas will determine if he is eligible to take the Expat Tax Credit. If he has not had 330 days overseas then he will have to pay the taxas. Once he reaches the 330 days then he will be eligible for the Tax credit and will get the money back in the upcoming year.

Only having to use the contract is not grounds for gettting out of paying taxes. Who ever stated that gave you some bad information.
