Sarah,
My first bit of advice is using a placement agency is fine, but "never" pay a fee of any kind to an agency to get a job. Never. Make sure that is understood going in. There are many agencies you can get a job through w/o paying a fee. The hiring company will pay the fee to the agency. Second, don't give your SS # to anyone till they offer a job. A placement agency does not need this info to get you a job. To many scams out there and you never know where that info might end up. Good luck w/ the job search.

Kelly people call you, you return the call and then they don't call back, way too unpolite. I wonder if they use planners or something similar.

Have lots of fun working for Kelly. They are horrible. I once worked for them under a boss that had an issue with me- it wasn't work related and it wasn't anything I'd said. I quickly could see it was all heavy politics in that place, and wheter or not you got a permanent job was based on one thing only. As I looked through the past lab notebooks for the project I was assigned to, I saw that no one stayed longer than a month and all quit in the middle of the project. How was I rewarded for sticking to it and getting the job done?? I never ever recieved a call from Kelly again. I'm very, very sure she bad mouthed me so much- and told nothing but lies- that I will never be able to work for KSR anywhere.
Jobs in the chemistry field are very scarce, so sometimes you have to rely on temp agencies to get the job.
Of course, Kelly will never tell me what she said, and pretend nothing was said- so I can't even defend myself. They obviously know that she and the whole company are like this, since they had to replace SIX people in six months. Working with this woman that way is really begging for a lawsuit- they are bound to get one sooner or later. But they don't care- they are willing to sacrifice and damage the careers of people to satisfy the hate of one boss and one company- the people who pay them.
They don't care about anything else.
