What happened with KNF&T and yourself? I am interested because they are constantly advertising. Are they a waste of time? |

I have no idea what is going on with them? I keep seeing them posting the same job order over and over again. I have replied to 4 or 5 postings for which I was VERY qualified and heard nothing! Have you noticed their salaries are always high? I think they run ads for non-existing jobs just to gather resumes they can use to cold call other companies to get other job orders. That is just an assumption. I have decided to give up on them. |

While doing a search on Google for our company, we found this website. We apologize that you have not had a response from us regarding any job postings that you see here on indeed.com. KNF&T does not post here and to be honest is the first time we have heard of indeed.com. We are actually quite interested in how our job postings show up here. The jobs you are applying for through this site, KNF&T can not guarantee that the jobs you see here are even available since we have no access to them and cannot remove them. If you are interested in looking at our open job orders, you can go directly to our website www.knft.com or you can find them on BostonWorks as well. QUALIFIED candidates will be contacted. Keep in mind, KNF&T's main office is located in Boston, with branch offices in Westborough and Newton MA. |

Hi Sheila, I can assure you that the reason you have not been contacted by KNF&T is that you live at least 1 1/2 hours from any of our branches. Our positions are located in the Boston, Metrowest area. Please read below. While doing a search on Google for our company, we found this website. I have been registered with KNF&T for almost 4 years, have called too many times to even mention, and NEVER get a call back on any jobs....many of which I am qualified for. When I do get an actual person on the phone, I always get the run around or the infamous "We don't have anything for you right now"....when I have just viewed 10 + job listings on Monster.com (or other sites) posted by them. Unreal. I'm not sure what is going on at this company, but they seem to always post REALLY high paying jobs all the time...yet never come through with a call, let alone an interview. It's pretty discouraging. |

Don't know how their job postings end up here? How naive. Its a search engine! Oh, and please only hit the Reply button once. I don't think I would do business with this outfit. |

Has anyone ever gotten a job through them? Their salaries seem to always be over the top, so I'd like to know if they are bluffing. |

I used to work as a recruiter with KNF&T. You are correct in your assumptions regarding "blind ads". The Company encourages recruiters to assess candidates and then call the candidates workplace to source possible job leads (i.e. " someone told me that your PA is looking for another role...would be happy to help you find suitable candidates" , blah, blah) Although no different from other headhunters, etc. I found the working environment to be insufferable. |

I too was a FORMER employee of KNF&T. There is a serious ethics problem with the management of this firm. Hiring based on ethnicity and most surprisingly looks?? Have you seen the management group? Insufferable is right. |

Yeah, I worked at this rediculous co too a few years ago...they hire on the basis of looks and appearance rather than qualifications! I went the corporate route after about three months. Unbelievable! |

I interviewed at KNF & T about a year ago. The recruiter I met went over my resume with me and wanted me to make some changes. I went home, made the changes she suggested, and emailed it right back to her. Never heard from her again. Sent another email a few days later, with my resume attached again, and still nothing. I'm done with agencies - I live outside of Providence, RI, and most of the agencies I've been to were in Boston. It's just not worth it - a waste of time, money, etc., and they never get back to you. You'd think with all the tools people have now to find a job on their own that the agencies would be desperate for qualified people, but I guess not. Maybe they're all fronts for drug traffickers. |

Beth Have you read all the postings regarding your company's ineptitude? And what do you think your attorney can do about "kathda8" posting anyway? I think you should get back to doing some sort of work instead of reading postings.

I always see them posted with some excellent opportunities, listing higher end salaries. I figured it was a "bait & switch" gig. I have never heard anything positive about this search company. |

They found it for me with little to no trouble, and they got a $7500 increase in my salary. All in all, I am very pleased with their professionalism and service. Hopefully that clears some of the negative air. |

KNF&T's Westborough Branch contacted me the day after I applied on-line. I was scheduled for an interview and received the position that I worked at for 3 months. I was more than happy with the service that the recruiters provided to me. I thought they were professional and truthful about the position. The pay rate on the posting was the pay rate I received. They were able to answer all of the questions that I had. I have worked with a couple of other agencies in the past and KNF&T is by far the best. They take the time to meet with you, and find out what you are and are not interested in, while other agencies just throw you around. On a side note, often people feel they are more qualified for jobs than they actually are. I have worked in a staffing company, not as a recruiter,in the past, and it's virtually impossible to get back to every applicant. It's often the angry people who are loud. The people who are happy with services often are not the ones making noise. For every 1 person complaining on here, there are probably many happy people who have found positions through this company. |

This is interesting. I have had experience working with various employment agencies and head hunters. Picking on KNF&T is sort of like trying to cure cancer by giving money to a homeless person on the Boston Common. Places like KNF&T don't ever charge job seekers to utilize their service, so the only true investment is one's time. As far as resumes go, ask ANYONE in the staffing industry, a resume is only useful when there is a corresponding position. Just having a resume, or being registered with a staffing agency, does not give anyone exclusive rights to a job seeker. Furthermore, people complaining about being contacted need to take a hard look at their skill set. Agencies are paid to find people based on what a client is looking for. One may have the right experience, but none of the tools or qualities a company is looking for (in my experience, the lack of specific computer knowledge is almost always a deal breaker). Finally, again on the 'they never contacted me thread' - have you ever applied to ANY position with ANY company that utilizes BrassRing as the application program? Onsite recruiters are not paid entirely to find the right candidate, but to cull as many people as possible from the 100+ resumes they receive for each listing. Being in the business for years, I have seen this Utopian, self-absorbed, sense of entitlement that people seem to carry. It is just sad. So why go after boutique agencies like KNF&T - which, after a bit of research has been in business since the early 80's, which means they must be doing something right - when there are head hunters out there, that will promise one the world for a modest fee (starting at $3000.00). My good laugh is how crazy people can get in these forums. Besides, if you really need help finding a job MA Workforce development offices are all over the place, unlike agencies, whose job is NOT to do career counseling or resume re-writes, they'll give anyone a fair assessment of their skills. |

...and a nasty cycle, at that. Agency recruiters will post imaginary positions just to source resumes. When they DO talk to you, sometimes it's to actually help you get a job, but more often than not, it's to turn the tables, contact your company, and "see if they need any help" filling the position you're currently in (if you're in one!). It's all about making the placement... and to make a placement, they need a position to fill. Candidates are out there; it's actually getting a company to talk to you that's the hard part. Why pay $10k+ for a candidate who would apply on their own (& be free!), anyway? I've worked both sides of the table. I'll never go agency again. It's not just KNF&T (although they're very guilty as charged) - it's all of them. Take a look around a major job board. A lot of the positions that agencies post will be posted by the company itself, maybe a week or so before the agency posting. There are no exclusive rights, there is no "special treatment". It's all about the $$$ and they get it where they can. With 400 agencies in the area, can you blame them?. Some Recruiters are good, many are bad. Don't b*t*h about the bad ones, just ignore them! Spend your time doing something more productive, like finding someone who actually cares about helping you. They're out there. Trust. |

Yeah - hit a nerve with "Beth" did we? - forwarding details to "our" attorney (who is her husband by the way). In my opinion, the worst of the worst of the staffing agencies. They insist on using the "female" connection although they are far from positive female role models themselves. You are right. Unless you can (or could) get BT into the DYC - you are just another in a long line of "assembly workers". |

It's a TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL search firm! When their 3rd recruiter who was assigned to me told me that my FP&A background wasn't a match for their accountant-type financial jobs, I looked on their website and found lots of FP&A jobs. I actually got one of those contract jobs through another staffing firm at $55/hour! Their 2nd recruiter who was assigned to me wanted an application completed after I already provided him with one that I gave to the first recruiter (who quit). The second recruiter also wanted a list of my clients from my previous consulting business (which I refused to give him). DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE UN-PROFESSIONALS. |
|
Steve in Salem, New Hampshire 54 months ago |
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. I never in my life badmouthed a staffing company before. This is my first time. But it MAKES ME FEEL SOOOOO GOOD TO BADMOUTH A COMPANY THAT WASTED MY VALUABLE TIME. |

I worked for KNF&T for about 3 years as a contractor for various positions. I enjoyed my time with them and they treated me well... so just be aware that not everyone's experiences are the same. Now that I am a Recruiter, I can see the difference in the candidates that I work with... some who are professional and some who are not. my 2 cents |

The biggest thing to remember about staffing agencies is that they are providing a service for companies, not for individuals. The purpose of an agency is to take the burden off of HR departments by providing them with VERY carefully screened individuals. Therefore, they pick people based on polish level--whether that means your dress, speaking voice, or vocabulary. KNF&T, like other agencies, owes nothing to its employees, only to its clients. |
|
Alicia Wolff in Nebraska 46 months ago |
Umm - I think you are dreaming if you think that Recruiters (esp KNFT) are taking some burden off the shoulders of HR departments. Staffing firms are paid to sort through the masses and limit the types of candidates that are presented to HR and hiring managers. Though I seem to remember "polish" being a KNF&T buzz word. Which usually means pretty and white. |
|
stagehand in Northbridge, Massachusetts 46 months ago |
Polish, as defined by Webster’s dictionary, means, "Refined, cultured, or elegant." It is also a Corporate American term which connotes a certain amount of professionalism. |
