I feel your pain. I think you should try a temp agency. They could possibly get a temp job for you to get some experience.

If you look over all the other phlebotomists forums on this site you will see that you are not alone and don't have to think that there is something wrong with you. I thought it was just ME because I have been certified for 3 years and I never found anything in this area. What I didn't know but what these schools DO know is that is can be a game of chance, that some of the students they are training will find a job easily and others will struggle. What they need to do is start having job placement as part of the program that will help the students to find something once the training ends. A good word from an established institution, such as a community college, can go a long way for a good student. It isn't fair that a lot will get a job based on their looks and personality even if they had poor grades and a bad technique in the training, but many will (at least in my class they did).

Don't forget to check with Teaching Hospitals, Retirement Facilities and newly opening small medical practices -- particularly those with non-American origans. |

I AM AN EMPLOYEE WITH LABCORP. I WANTED TO COMMENT AS TO ONE OF THE REASONS WHY YOU MAY NOT BE RECEIVING ANY RESPONSES FROM EMPLOYERS. WELL FROM WHAT I CAN SEE FROM YOUR COMMENTS, YOU SHOULD DO A SPELL CHECK ON YOUR RESUME. YOU SPELLED SEVERAL WORDS INCORRECTLY. IF YOU ARE STILL NOT RECEIVING ANY RESPONSES, CHECK YOUR STARTING SALARY REQUIREMENTS. YOU MAYBE STARTING TO HIGH. START OFF LOWER. ONCE YOU GET YOUR FOOT IN THE DOOR FOR AN INTERVIEW THEN PUT THE SALARY REQUIREMENTS YOUR REQUESTING. DURING YOUR INTERVIEW PROCESS, THAT'S WHEN YOU SELL YOURSELF. LET THEM KNOW THAT YOUR AN PROFIT FOR THE COMPANY. LET ME KNOW HOW IT TURNS OUT. GOOD LUCK. |

WELL TO START OFF FROM WHAT I SEE ON YOUR COMMENTS, YOU SHOULD DO A SPELL CHECK. I NOTICED SEVERAL WORDS MISPELLED. YOU MAY ALSO NEED TO CHECK YOUR STARTING SALARY. YOU MAY HAVE A HIGH NUMBER BUT DON'T HAVE THE EXPERIENCE TO MATCH IT. IF YOU NEVER WORKED IN MEDICAL FIELD BEFORE, TRY STARTING OFF IN A DOCTOR'S OFFICE, AN OCCUPATIONAL CLINIC IF THEIR IS ONE IN YOUR AREA, A TEMP AGENCY USUALLY HELPS, OR DO VOLUNTARY WORK @ A HOSPITAL OR CLINIC TO GET SOME CLINICAL EXPERIENCE. IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE OTHER THAN YOUR COMPLETION OF SCHOOL, DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED @ YOUR STARTING SALARY IF IT IS LOW. GET YOUR FOOT IN THE DOOR FIRST THEN SELL YOURSELF AND LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU ARE A PROFIT FOR THE COMPANY. LABCORP WILL NOT HIRE YOU UNLESS YOU HAVE ATLEAST A YEAR EXPERIENCE UNDER YOUR BELT.(ATLEAST IN THIS AREA) I HAVE 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE AND I LEARNED A TRICK OR TWO. SO TRY THOSE THINGS I MENTIONED AND DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED. STAY FOCUSED, KEEP GOD FIRST, AND EVERYTHING WILL FALL INTO PLACE. I WISH YOU THE BEST AND LET ME HOW YOU MADE OUT. |

Do you realize cap locks = yelling? What does GOD have to do with her inability to find a job when the economy is slaughtering quality of life and inability to feed our children or ourselves? We were sold a bill of goods that if we only TRIED and went to school and paid our taxes and lived a clean, good life, we could expect a decent opportunity. Not so. Labcorp won't give me a chance either. REJECT REJECT REJECT. One after the next. |

I hear you!! I worked for LabCorp for 3 years, and our department was closed. I was told I was marked for rehire, but all I get is rejection e-mails, saying they have decided to go with someone that is better suited for the position. Crazy thing is, the type of work I am applying for is the same type of work I did for 3 years, but I'm not qualified. |
