Think more like $12 to $15 an hour depending on location. This company is so image conscious it's ridiculous--they make missiles that can kill thousands of people, but they're terrified of someone in an LM uniform carrying a handgun.

Thanks for the reply. The position I was interested in is at the Riveria Beach, Florida facility and one in Virginia. I thought they were Lockhead Martin employees as the job was posted as such on their website. I'm sure every facility does different things though. Anyhow, can't put bread on the table for $12/hour. Thanks.

My bad, if it's posted on the LM website then it's an actual LM position. It probably pays slightly more as well, but that all depends on the standard pay levels the company uses. I've heard too many things about those facilities to go anywhere near them, but if you need a job, it's been said that LM's a great place to work until you find something better.

$12 would be the very lowest of the low end for a entry level security guard in fl from the open reqs i see. post the req up and i'll see what level it is and if there's a salary range listed.

Hey Eggy, the Req # is 219900BR.

Doesn't say anything about the salary in the job posting but for $12 with all my certs and training I might look elsewhere! Thanks.

The salary range for that (entry level / level 1) job is around $24k-$40k, which means it probably (with my best case - I neither work in that org or location) pays $25k-$30k to start. Sounds like you probably want to look for at least a level 2 or 3 job i'd think (sr and specialist, respectivly). The l3 jobs are $32k-$53k (probably start in the $34k-$40k range). Level 4 security sr specialists look to bottom out at a little under $40k.

CB, make sure to get all the facts from your offer letter. If your position is classified as "exempt", you won't get any form of compensation for overtime. Managerial positions at LM usually average between 55-65 work hours per week.

looks open. $40k-$66k, so probably about $53k+ to start.

$63,502/year for a full time gig, but who's counting. ;D there's 2080 normal working hours in a year is how to calculate it, or just multiply the hourly figure by 2 and call it thousands (this estimates it based on 2000 hours). i.e if the job is $30.52/hr, x 2 and change from k$/hr to $/yr= $61.04k/yr.
