Hi Everyone, I have been trying to get into Lockheed for a long time. I have a BA in psych, and I recently saw a position opening for a Human Factors psychologist, I applied, but I have been applying there off and on for years, and am not very hopeful. I've tried to get in from the bottom, like in admin or something. Can anyone help?

Hi,

Sorry to hear of your turn-down, but a "Human Factors Psychologist" opportunity invariably requires a Ph.D.

Lockheed Martin is looking for someone to conduct unsupervised research and/or to oversee long term research projects. If you are serious about pursuing a career in research, you will need a doctorate.

In some cases, you can get by with an ADB, but it's NOT recommended. (ABDs tend to be very unhappy people)

Sorry for the "ADB" typo in the above note. "ABD" stands for All But Dissertation.

Not getting any feedback seems to be the norm from what I'm reading online about the LHM hiring process, but to be fair depends on the position you are applying for. In my case I had my interview over a month ago but it requires secret clearance...process could take anywhere from 3-6 months from what I hear. Possibly longer depending. Not to mention there were other hires for my position also that have to be filtered.

I'm waiting patiently, but I understand it can be frustrating waiting on the yes/no in regards to if you got the position or not.

Good Luck.

Not sure if they will respond or not, but here is my story:
I had an interview a about a month ago, they said they would get back to me withing a week. A week later, nothing...So i contacted the recruiter, he said they're reviewing the candidates to wait another week. A week later again, nothing. Contacted the recruiter again, he said they're going to make a decision by the end of the week. End of the week nothing. Contacted the recruiter again, he told me they chose someone for the position. Then he sent me the letter of regret. Later I found out a buddy of mine got the position, don't think he bothered the recruiter like I did. So my advice is to be patient...I wasn't

The recruiter doesn't choose the candidates, so I wouldn't worry much about bothering the recruiter. It IS their job to be the interface to the recruits. I also wouldn't hesitate to contact the hiring manager if they gave you their contact information- definitely don't bother THEM too much though! :D

Hi, i applied for an Environmental Engineer position at LMC. I received an email after a month where the recruiter asked me to send an updated resume. After a phone interview (30 minutes) I received a phonecall 2 hours later and the recruiter told me that i have been selected for an interview. On July 29th I had the interview with a panel and I was told at the end that I was gonna recieve a call the week after. But it's been a week since that interview and I start to be very very anxious. Could someone tell me more about the hiring process? - and can I breathe? Thanks

I'm going to give my recruiter a buzz. I'm sure they called my current employer because over the last few weeks our HR manager and CEO have been acting mighty fishy. My CEO actually came in my office a couple weeks back with a look on his face as if he wanted to tell me something or ask me something....my instinct kicked in that he knows something...he just left my office. HR manager here keeps asking me how is everything, am I happy..etc...so I know something is up.

This is exactly what I didn't need to happen. Their probably shopping for a replacement as we speak. : (

Hi all,

After reading all the posts I would like to suggest that you follow up with the recruiters. LM receives many resumes and sometimes they fall behind in their responses. Please be patient and dont be shy about following up, persistence pays off, also, if you may want to apply for multiple positions rather than just one.

Good luck!!
