I applied for a job on the Lockheed Martin website and until today the Job Status stated "open". Today the Job Status changed to "cancelled". What does this mean? |

Michelle, great question, sorry for not including this info in my e-book. A cancelled Req. means that the position is no longer needed by the hiring manager. Be on the lookout in case a similar position is re-opened soon, though-- sometimes REQs are cancelled if the hiring manager made a significant error in the position description, or entered in outdated information. What position are you shooting for with LM? Also, thanks for your service in Iraq! |

I appreciate the fast response. Does "cancelled" mean the position no longer needs to be filled and that no one got the job? I applied for the Flight Service Specialist announcement. I was really looking forward to hearing that I either got the job or feedback as to why I didn't. I'll keep on the lookout for a new posting though. Thanks again. |

That's correct, the position is no longer needed. Even if they had already extended some other applicant a conditional job offer, the REQ would still show as "Open" until their first day on the job. |
