What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does Manpower Professional stack up against the competition? |

Manpower is just a temp job while you look for a real good paying job. They are like pimps and you are a ho. |

I interviewed with a company directly as they had an ad on one of the boards. The guy told me he is "not working with agencies." Yet, Manpower had the SAME JOB listed -- it was identical -- and was trying to collect resumes anyway! Unbelievable!!! |

many recruiters take jobs off the company website and advertise it as \"Their clients\". |

Manpower Professional: A division of Manpower Inc Worlwide. I think they will survive. They have been around since 1948 and have 4400 offices in 73 countries. If you have had a bad experience with them, why not address it with them directly? They are ISO9000 certified, and were named "America's Most Admired Company" by Forbes Magazine for the 4th year in a row. I can assure Manpower only places the best of the best in any given position. Maybe that's why you are so hostile? |

I've spoken with hr professionals (in house) who see their jobs lifted from the web to farm resumes by companies they have no connection to all the time. Be careful people!!! And their rates are ridiculously low!!!! |

Maybe that's why you are so hostile? Hostile? And maybe you work for them and are defending your own turf. Forbes Magazine does not factor in how "body shops" treat contract employees because they aren't considered to be "real employees". You are either naiive, very young or you work for Manpower, to defend them so ascerbically. And they hire any body they can get the client to accept...the client does the interviewing. |

Sounds like you have had a terrible experience and I am truly sorry if that is the case. I can assure you that the Manpower office I work for does not operate in this manner, and we treat our associate employees as if they will be future clients, with the utmost respect. We treat them this way because they are ambassadors for our company. We do not hire anybody we can get the client to accept - this is why our clients choose to work with us. Again, if you had a bad experience with one office, please do not consider it a reflection on the entire company. I love my job, I believe in our product because it is a valuable service in our community, and I sincerely wish you the best in your future endeavors. |

I do have a vested interest in Manpower Professional. I am a finance professional with previous placement, recruit experience ok..........I came into this after having been the guy looking for a job, being the Senior manager that listened to a recuiters sale pitch and finally being the recruiter.........one thing I learned is that it's not about trying to Bull crap people........ personally, I try to provide a good level of service and still be realistic,,,remember I still work in finance and accounting so, I understand what is going on and being done in practice so my recruit approach is rooted in what you have to do to be successful and not what a recuiter promises to do. My dilemma is finding the right candidates with realistic expectations,,,,,,if you are glorified A/P clerk making 72K with no degree, no advance education realize you are very lucky on the otherhand if you are a CPA with major finance, accounting international banking SEC responsibilities making 35K,,,well you are being taken advantage of. That is where a good industry professional can assist you and that's what I try to do......I'm not greedy, but I'm good at what I do. |
