Bad taste in my mouth

This all started the weekend after turkey day. I had a bad ear infection with tonsils and lymph nodes all swollen up and had been sick and in pain all weekend. The following Monday I went to work anyway with a bottle of Tylenol in hand to try and keep the pain away till I could get to the doctor later that day. I completed my work day as usual and headed home to go to the doctor and get something for my infection. All went as planned so started taking my medicine which was two different antibiotics and hydrocodone for the pain. I went to bed shortly after getting home and had figured I should be much better in the morning. I got up that morning planning to work and even headed out to work. I worked 30 min from home and in that time I went from feeling bad to just plain horrible there was just no way I could work it was all I could to stay up right and even semi focused. After telling the people I just couldn't do it I went back home and crashed after stopping on the side of the road to puke. When I woke up later in the morning I called Mandy and asked if anyone could cover for me while I was sick and she stated given my qualifications she wasn't sure. A few hours later she called me back and said "She had some to work for me, just let me know when you want to come back". Well I took that day off and I thought to be nice to my fill-in I would take another day as my start time was 4 AM so my fill-in didn't have to get up so early for only one day and it would make sure I was actually better before going back. Well on the second day I called Mandy back and told her I would like to come back the next day and asked if that was ok. She stated it was fine and a few hours later she called me back to tell me they didn't need me anymore possibly leading me to believe they had filled my spot with a permanent employee.

The next day I needed to have my time sheet signed so I went up there and seen that it wasn't that they had my job filled with an employee, they had gotten another Manpower employee to fill my spot. I can get a doctors note and I have prescriptions all dated that day so I'm not just pulling some ones chain. The only thing that should have given me an indication was when I talked to Mandy at first she said "Well, if your sick, your sick what can we do" in a tone as if she didn't believe me. It's Christmas time and I was doing that job to get money for my little girls Christmas. I didn't need to be out of work I just couldn't do it that day! Basically, I got screwed for being legitimately sick. We wonder why employees are not loyal to the companies any more. It's because of stuff like this, talk about being cold and uncaring.
