If I'd known Manpower posted the job ad... |

Deceived in Kansas City, Kansas 38 months ago |
I've read some of the posts regarding Manpower. One recruiter writes something like: "we are a *temp* agency, therefore we provide *temporary* work, so if you want permanent work then you should not waste our time by applying to us." Okay, fair enough, but if you don't want us to waste your time, then don't trick us into applying to you in the first place. Believe me, I do try to avoid staffing agencies like the plague. I want to deal directly with my next employer. I don't want a middle-man staffing agency between me and the company I am working for, skimming from the pay that the employer would have paid me directly, and denying me the benfits that I would have received if I had been hired directly. So several months ago I applied for a position which appeared to be posted directly by the compamy needing the position filled. As far as I could tell from the posting, it was full-time and permanent, and I didn't see any trace of any temp/staffing agency on it. So I went to the trouble of applying for the position. Only after I took the time to finish the process did I realize who I was really applying to. Finally, the message appeared saying that I had successfully applied to --- Manpower! Why didn't you tell me you were Manpower before I started applying? If I had known your job posting was made by a temp agency, I would not have applied for it. I know that Manpower is not a top-secret federal government installation, so there is no need to hide your identity on job boards. Why must you trick me and others looking for permanent and stable work to apply to your *temporary* agency? I must say that I am not sorry for wasting your time with my application. Recruiters: do not complain to us for wasting your time, because you tricked us into applying to you in the first place. Remember, you tricked us. |
