SB MP Employee in South Bend, Indiana 58 months ago |
I have worked for MP for over 5 years and its one of the best agencies around. I don't know why others are complaining because if you want to work they will get you work. Maybe you didn't give it a chance. |

Maybe the one in South Bend has decent management. The Manpower in Stamford, CT stinks. |

I went to MP, filled out an application and gave them a resume along with it. I wouldn't sign a paper for them to contact my last employer. The secretary who handed me the paper work to fill out was decent at first and then changed her attitude with me when I refused to sign a release for them to contact my previous employer. I told her I would explain during my interview. I also told her that I had the last few years of reviews from my past employer for her to make copies of instead of contacting my employer. I was hoping with that and an explanation I would at least get my foot in the door. However, she was abrupt with me at that point and basically I was told they probably wouldn't call me for even an interview. |

why on earth would you want to work for a temp agency for 5 years? Are you getting any benefits at all? You realize, of course, instead of you making the $15.00 (or whatever) they most likely take $5.00 of it for themselves. Unless, you actually like not getting full pay, nor 401K, and other benefits from a company.

Betty, not sure where you get your facts from, but they couldn't be further from the truth, Manpower offers full medical/dental/vision benefits to all employees after 30 days, including 401k, paid vacations and holidays....Manpower does NOT take any money from employees...Profits made by Manpower are by their Clients...Clients pay a mark up on top of pay...Most of the time the customer dictates the employees payrate. So if Client X says we need an employee for 10.00/hr, Manpower charges 14.00/hr which covers taxes, pay, insurances (manopwer bonds all employees up to a million dollars), and administrative costs...this is a pennies business after the profit that is made per hour after costs and all is mere pennies an hour. |

i worked for manpower and when it was over after 6 months I hadn't received any benefits of any kind, not even a paid holiday. that really sucked since the place i worked at closed down for 2 days each for 3 year end holidays and i was not paid for any of those 6 days. the last day i was there i was eligible for the "best in the business benefits". I had had it by then. Its strange your facts differ from mine. |
