I was contacted by Manpower for this position back in December os 2006. I met with the hiring Branch Manager. His first question: 1) So how is the job market out there? 2) Have you had any job offers? 3) What are people in the market offering you? 4) Have you talked with my competition? Let me tell you; I know everyone in town and have connections in this town....The interview was clearly a way for this fellow to gather market information. Of course, he continues to run this same ad at 2 to3 times per month. I guess to update his market information.

A4W: I think the "Manager of Sales & Marketing - Fishing Tackle Industry" job is real. The employer is Yo-Zuri, a lure manufacturer, of Port St. Lucie, FL. The guy who formerly held this position quit: way too may hours, way too little money, no time off, huge travel. Often had to go to Japan HQTRS (20 hour flight). I am told that the company culture does not view the "American work ethic" in a favorable light. FYI. |

In Baltimore while working full time job and running carpet cleaning company part time a major company used up a lot of my time. I was ask to arrive at 6AM for interview with 3rd shift supervisor. I was interveiwed by 4 more managers and supervisors. At noon I was meeting with the plant manager, he explained, his plan to add production teams had been turned down by the board of directors last week. He thought I was well qualified however had no openings. Why then would they bring me in. It is a good method to rate your supervisor and managers abilty to interview. Above all it is free, for the plant manager. When I said in the beging I ran carpet cleaing part time I had a job schedualed for 9 to 10 am on that side of town. I wasted 6 hours and lost $85. Oh weel life goes on. Look at the bright side, I am in management and I learned a free way to elvuate my supervisors interviewing skills. |
