Exactly right. Usually I skip jobs listed by ManPower because in my experience their recruiters do not understand the requirements nor the candidate qualifications for the jobs that they post, especially if the job is technical. ManPower does not do anything that you cannot do for yourself. As an example, once they had me drive to Raleigh for an interview (almost a two hour drive for me) although they had an office in my town (said that my local office could not help me with the **special opportunities ** that they had for me). When I got there, all they did was open up some newspapers and show me some job advertisements that I'd already seen. When ManPower did contact me about openings I'd applied for, each time (of three) they tried to fit me into a position that I did not remotely qualify for. Shows how much attention they paid to my resume and paperwork, let alone that these were not even jobs that I had responded to!

Generally, I agree..................

now, having been recruited, a manager & business owner that was approached by recruiters and finally being a recruiter,,,,I have a very simple rule as to how I determine a recruiters salt.

I am a practicing CPA OH/IN/MN 88, and MBA and my last field work was SOX 06 for acclerated filers and FAS109 tax issue for the year ended 12/06. So, for me a recruiter must be my professional peer to have any professional credibility----we have to first be able to talk about things I talk about in my profession. Second he has to still have that Audit/tax manager mindset--meaning I have to wonder if his skillset can produce on my job and make me look good to upper management or to my engagement manager.

no in most cases,,,,,,,,,,,,,in recruiting you'll never have a recruiter who is your professional peer,,,,,right. So, you as a client should qualify the recruiter,,,,I see it every day,,,,when they say hey how many new job orders do you have how many new clients do you have send out etc......they are money driven,,,,while I'm about the relationship and the quality of work.

a throw back to those midwestern/accounting ethics I guess
