I have an upcoming interview with Manpower for a Direct Hire Consultant position that seems pretty promising. I have also been offered a job with Wells Fargo. I know a lot about Wells Fargo, but not that much about Manpower. I would love some honest feedback from current and/or former employees of the company with regard to what I could expect if I chose to go with them instead (if offered a position).

Manpower - hmm. I know they suck in Phoenix. Very unprofessional, unflexible and not easy to work with. They are mere forward your resume into a black hole kinda people.

Renee,

I have a DHC (Direct Hire Consultant) in my branch and I would say it is an excellent opportunity if you are willing to work hard. It has great earning potential, but it is based on what you put into it. Not sure what type of position you have been offered at Wells Fargo, but Manpower IS an excellent company with great people, especially in the Direct Hire side of the business.

I hope you choose Manpower!

As a direct hire consultant, I will not be placing temporary employees. I know that Cannon has lost a couple of their major contracts, so it is probably difficult to place people in jobs when they aren't needed. But thanks for the feedback.

Canon didn't lose their major accounts. That plant is 1 million sq ft and they also do Hewlett Pacard copiers and printers there. The Pixma is the major product built there. A lot of laser stuff went to China, but it may be coming back due to the loss of technology on the Black Market.

But I bet Spock already knows all that, doesn't he?

I'm well aware of what Cannon does. I've known many people over the years who have worked and some who continue to work there. Do you work there? Honestly, I don't know what Spock knows. My opinions are all my own.

I am very familiar with some machines that are running product in that plant. They also produce the EP25 Laser cartridge. They're some good people in the front office, Manufacturing Engineering and on the floor.

Hampton is beautiful but 40 degrees feels like 10 in the winter. And there's more history from there to Yorktown to Williamsburg to Jamestown to the Iron Clads then any other place in the US.

You not knowing what Spock knows is a good thing. <wink>

lol. I hope to be able to contribute to Manpower in such a way as to change the opinions of people who feel the way you do about them. Remember, its not always about the company. Sometimes it is just the individuals that you deal with.

Renee, i worked for them in zeeland, michigan some years ago and they suck big time and claim to give you the world but deliver nothing. i worked for 6 months for them and they give no health benefits nor holiday pay. avoid them, few people who work for them have anything good to say about those SOB's....

If Manpower only has jobs for local candidates then why put jobs on a internet based search site, why not just advertise local? all their jobs a fake or pay nothing , they are a wast of time for anyone looking for work
