Unfortunatly you are extremly out of the loop on how things are handled with Manpower. You may think the pay rate is set by Manpower, but in fact the rate of pay is determined by the client. If you were to apply with the company on your own, guess what??? They would offer you the same amount Manpower would. And you are correct welders are extremly in demand, so why use a staffing agency if you are qualified? You would think with your skills you could walk into any shop and get hired on.

Ok,I realize now that manpowers clients set their wages based on the position that is open,I did not know this..And yes I can walk into any place and get hired with my backround.I thought it was manpower that was setting the low wages, trying to make an extra buck off of their welders.Sorry for my mistake...Lou.

Lou, Thank you so much for you curtiousy! You are obviously a much more advanced human being than the other people who write very rude things on this job board! Best of luck to you and your job search. I hope you get what you are worth! And I mean that with sincerity.

Dear Sally,

I'm so glad Manpower's CFO twisted the facts so professionally. Point in fact, I've seen the same opening on the job boards by two different companies and hey guess what? Manpower pays low.

You're full of crap.

Lou said: You know that all skilled welders are in very high demand now..Ive been a welder for 15 years--And Manpower wants to pay $11.00 to $12.00 per, hour to these skilled welders--especially people that know flux-core--You people from Manpower, get your heads on straight,,you all must be crazy!!!

I am a Manpower Direct Hire Recruiter and I have welding jobs paying to $22 per hour. It is soley based on the hiring company! Relocate to Tulsa and I'll hook you up!

Most of what I have read is so true, especially the part about not contacting people after they have submitted a resume, knowing they are qualified for the position.

Funny thing you say that the client sets the payrates, not any part of it being Manpower, because I was brought in by a full time employee of the company I work for currently, and unfortunatly had to go through manpower to get the job as the company uses Manpower for all their temp positions.

I was told by the person who hired me at the company that I would be getting a certain amount per hour, and Manpower ended up giving me about 10% less than the client told me. How strange...
