It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at Marco & Son Wine Importing & Distribution?

Any advice on striking the right note?

Dont bother with this company. They are unprofessional. He seems to like the ladies to line up for interviews.

Please all interested in getting into the wine business. Please stay away from this company, specially the "Owner" CEO, MR. Marco Vivona. He is a really nasty employeer, doesnt pay his dues nor the salaries he commits to. I know plenty of people who have had awful experiences with him. Mr. Vivonas main quality, the guy is a hustler, lives on stiffing people and companies. More to say, he had to leave his last office on 1209 Tech Blvd Suite 101, because he never paid rent, had to leave at night... Please keep away from this fellow. Rgds, The wine lady.-

HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND BUSINESS--HE IS NOT ITALIAN--he is from Uruguay and THAT makes all the difference;employers in Uruguay treat employees badly. Marco was a waiter and runs this company like a waiter and not a person of integrity, grace, and class. He seeks a lowlife, crooked, high pressure cheap sleezy-type sales person. NOT one who will build good-LONG-TERM relationships with quality clientele. He had relationships with some establishments and then drops them--he does NOT support his sales people--who may need to see a fine-dining establishment several times before making a sale--especially when prospective clients want to taste the wine. Try and set-up a tasting--good luck-you will get no where with him. He has no clue about the wine business. You will get no wine samples for tasting and his assistant is a whimp and a "yes" man only. All the advertised "materials" are minimal and "leads" are about 5 years old--the last sales guy that left was a real sleeze bag-filling orders himself without clients permission and then having wine shipped to places when management was not in--so these unknowing businesses got stuck with wine sitting on their shelves for years. You will be expected to cold call with maybe 1-3 bottles of wine to sample and the cheap stuff they want to get rid of and no brochures, NOTHING. One huge client who owns a large wine shop (was a steady client & use to order MUCH wine from him) DROPPED him cold when on a sponsored wine trip to Italy--Signore Marco left everyone high and dry--wine shop owners and customers--in Venice, Italy to pursue a lady he met! They all had to return to the US alone. He lacks professionalism and business acumen to know what to do with the quality product he has. I foresee him NOT lasting in the wine business too much longer as his reputation proceeds him and anyone who works for him is sabotaged immediately.
Stay AWAY !

If you ever see a dime from this crook, you'll be one of the lucky ones. I took a job with this company, against my better judgement. After I sent in some orders I asked them for a copy of the invoice, so that I could keep track of my commission. I kept getting the runaround and finally quit. Now it's been over a month, and I STILL haven't received ANY paychecks from them. I worked for them for a month and was never paid. Now, they won't even return my calls or Emails. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. MARCO, MONICA, TAMMY, and ANYBODY ELSE THAT WORKS THERE ARE ALL LIARS AND CROOKS. Marco isn't even Italian, he's from South America.

Marco cannot do anything right . . . he didn't pay me when i worked for him and his reputation seems to be negative all over Tampa . . according to all those I have tried to sell to . . . he only recently moved his offices for NON-PAYMENT of rent and his warehouse is NOT air-conditioned in FLORIDA ? Some of the wine is souring in the heat . . neither is his trucks climate controlled . . . I suspect he will not be in the wine business very long because he has lost his employees and no one wants to work for a bad tempered chauvinist . . . who fools around with his secretary . . . he knows NOTHING about developing long-term clientele --won't provide the necessary samples or open bottles even for quality restaurants and is simply a poor excuse for a wine importer . . . he should stick to being a waiter . . . he lacks the proper couth and understanding to operate well in wine circles. The wine business takes time, and is a SLOW process to build good , solid relationships . . . this idiot wants to sell boutique wines at gas stations and convenience stores . . . has NOT clue about who is market is and and how to approach them.
My advice: don't even bother !!!
