Looking for work

I've been a still photographer for 10 years. While I have focused on building a diverse portfolio to show the technical as well as creative aspects of what I can photograph, some say I am more of a fine art photographer than a photojournalist.

When looking for work as an in house staff photographer for either a publication, newspaper or as a in house photographer for a company photographing their products, it is frustrating when I look at the jobs and see photographer wanted and it turns out to be in reality a videographer in stead. Why do newspapers not make this distinction in their search for candidates?

Or is it just assumed that the primary job is as a videographer and the skills to be a still photographer are present just not primary?
