There were two postings for COTA's the day I called. One was for a SNF and one was for Outpatient. I was pretty much told that I didn't have a chance at outpatient since most of my experience was in SNF's and I had "pigeonholed" myself. Why does someone who has never met me get to decide what job I interview for? |

Not sure how many years experience you have but if you have spent most of it in SNFs the chance of working outside a SNF is pretty slim. The only way to get this experience is to call some outpatient clinics in your area and see if they are willing to take you under their wing. Most Outpatient and Hospitals will not hire you without experience... kind of a catch 22 I know. That is why I am leaving this field at the end of August for a new career change. |
