The president of the company is a true Micro-Manager. He has a staff however he wants to do everything for himself. He called my home to interview me at 11pm with no consideration for the family. The company expects for you to work from 8 to 6 seeing people and then go after that to catch on paperwork. If you look at the website NACA.COM you will see that the company has many sites but no office directors for the site. Doesn't want to pay the people.

whats their criteria? I have the income...never been 30 days past due on my mortgage.

My credit score is 498 as I got a lot of medical bills.

it's ridicoulous how they didnt make it seem difficult.

what do you think is holding them back from refiancing me? Am I really a risk or they dont think they will make money on my loan?

The same thing happened to me when I applied for an underwriting position with NACA. After applying directly through their website and completing a ridiculously long questionaire, I recieved an email from the HR dept asking me to contact them directly to schedule an interview with the Underwriting Director. It's no lie when I say I called the first time within 10 minutes of receipt of that email and left a voicemail. I've since left 6 or 7 more messages as well as replied to the original email over the last 3 weeks and the hr rep has yet to return any of my calls. Based on the unprofessionalism of their HR dept alone I began considering whether or not I even wanted to work for this organization. But after reading the posts here, my mind is now made up. The worst part is, this is the only underwriting position I WANTED to apply for. As a mortgage underwriter, long hours are expected, and the low salary posted for the position I believed would be offsetted by a "I did a good deed" feeling at the end of the day given the nature of the organization. However, it's apparently clear that by others remarks regarding management, company turnover, and stress related to workload, this company is not worth my time.

I dont understands why are they not going to refi me?

They dont return calls or emails.

I paid $1700.00 a month now and have never been late....If they refi me my payment would be $1050.00

So whats the risk in that?

Pitchin Triple-A Paper in Birmingham, Alabama said: It is a modification of your loan. Your loan will stay with the same company.

It looks like that if you adhere to the payment dates for stipulation.....make the payments on in APR and May, and you will qualify for the modification.

Basically, this sounds like an ok deal. If you have never missed a mortgage payment, they will modify your loan, although, this will only bring your payment to lower by rougly a little more than $150, for the remainder of your loan, as long as you make the payments outlined for the next 3 months.

Your HC should be able to explain this in detail, as well as the refinance department. Make sure you get this in writing, as you might have at this moment.

Not quite 1st prize, but it will make your payments lower.

I just did an interview in one of their big city offices and will be offered the job tomorrow. Im not too happy about the hours, but if I can close 7 a month it is pretty good cash.
PITCHING AAA PAPER,

Can i make good money? if i want to work only 50 hours a week and no weekends will i get fired?

Nope....

You will be expected to work the worshops which are on weekends. 50hrs is the minimum you are expected to work any given week.

Their are people whom work there that make good money. But you will pay a price....

What I would do is read the NRCP agreement in DETAIL....and hit me with some questions about it....

I can tell you how that works, and the likelyhood of your earnings based on closed loans....

AAA,

Thanks for your help. I have scoured the NRCP and messed around with figuring out compensation per week based on different number of closings.

Im in a huge city where it appears they have so much coming in, they are thousands behind as far as contacting people.

I figure if I close 6-7 that is pretty darn good cash. I want to help too, so that may make the time go faster. I just dont want to give up my life. That is exactly what it takes to close that many loans right?

How were they about vacation, taking days off, coming in late...you know...living a life outside the office?

Thanks

Sometimes...at my workshops, I would tell people "it depends on your situation" alot of people want an anwser right there. As you can see, that simply isn't possible, but I have heard some pretty sub-par workshops where people are misinformed and led astray. As you can see, our point of NACA's mismanagement is highly supported.

In RESPONSE to JAKE in Chicago...

I will tell you this, NACA is always hiring (and always will be), and they need you bad. Please be aware of what you getting into, sooo many excellent have been in your exact same shoes.

I am TELLING you, everyone wants to help, you are no different. 10 training classes have probably gone thru NACA in the last 12 months, and I bet you can count the retention on one finger. The ones that are closing that many loans, have been there for years, when NACA was paying salary. They have developed their pipeline for a while. Across the entire organization the pipelines are huge, because so many go thru the program and could not be helped in time and simply gave up. I am familiar w/ the Director in Chicago, and I can say his volume at best on avg was 7. I've seen him hit 3-4 to 10 . You also must factor in how long those loans took to close and what type of loans they are (the non-targeted, the easy closes are the least paid, the targeteds typically have challenges that take several months)I've also seen top dogs not close any loans in a month, and that will get you to a pure draw.

In terms of coming in late, NACA's software gagues when you come in and when you leave by how you are logged in. Since they are very short staffed (turn-over, the National Director is VERY reluctant to grant vacation, to the point of it creating issues.

Bottom-Line, It is NOT conducive for a personal life, AT ALL. They will tell you, it takes a "different" type of person to work at NACA. Once a time, I took that "different" with pride.

In terms of closing those 6-7 loans, you will be bogged down with many other things no one wants to do. It is such a tragedy, I knew so many good people who fell off. 70hrs+ a week is not unheard of, +extreme weight loss, lack of sleep. I've seen people at work at 9-10p.m. including myself.

Think about that, for a percieved 45k-65k= typically 65hrs a week & weekends?

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

lol jake, as long as you are a half-decent professional who will put in some decent work....."you will fit in".

Think of it like the marines on the beaches of Normandy, except your providing mortgages and as you get closer to the beach, the bullets of "members" gets thicker and thicker, and you are trying to "close" to muster some type of defense, and if you are still standing, you will see your entire squad fall right beside you w/ time.

lol, it sounds like you are sold on it buddy, and I know it is hard to say no to a fresh new job, especially the way the market it right now.

I have nothing to gain by telling you this information, except PROPERLY informing someone about working for NACA; and know that I gave them the facts.

NACA have everything to gain. They will milk you for all your hardwork, ridicule you for asking valid questions, not provide ANY type of proper support, and then expect you to suceed & not point out the flaws w/ the organization.

That's the bottom-line.....

I too applied on line for a job thru Career Builder. I rec'd emails telling me I qualified and that I should call Rafael Ramirez. Called him 4 times, left a message to call me back. Never returned the call - until the day of the interview. He called me 1 hour before the interview time. I agreed to go and got there 5 minutes ahead of the appointment time. The building and the office was very run down and not a place most people would enjoy working in. The receptionis was nice and I got a lot of information from her about the job. My appointment time was 11:30AM. I waited 20 minutes and the 12:Noon appointment came in. He and I swapped experiences with each other and with the receptionist while waiting for our appointment. The interviewer Mr. Meadows was busy the whole time I sat waiting. I left after 50 minutes of waiting.
The program seems to be great for home owners, but I don't know for sure because I was never interviewed.
I do not take kindly to a company who has no regard for their employees (present or future) time. The first sign of trouble in my estimation is Mr. Rafael Ramirez failure to return calls when the scheduled dates of the interviews in my town were upon us.
And when I got to the building it is in a rundown part of the city with abandoned buildings and it sadly in need of major repairs. Next the interminable wait for a scheduled appointment. I do not disrespect people by being late. So I expect my employer to treat me with dignity and respect also. That means being on time!!! And that building!!! I could not see me working in that awful setting.

I had a similar experience. I stayed around for the interview. I was pretty clear that I did want to help people and am sure that I would be very good at this work but it was apparent that they could give a hoot about me or my family. Probably doesn't care about his own either. I did receive a rejection letter and know who got the job. He or she is working lots and lots of hours. Heard that they are incredibly over worked and stressed! Also, have a few friends who went through the program and ultimately bought homes. So I guess its good from that side. I guess it's all about the clients. If they get lucky and make it through the process. Too bad the CEO isn't more interested in creating something really great for the employees as well. Happier employees are more productive so the 50-60 hours probably wouldn't be necessary to accomplish the desired outcome.

NACA has limitations from the perspective of Homeowners. The fist and most significant is that each and every homeowner has to sign a "Waiver Of Liability" in other words, no matter what NACA does that may be in error, you have no legal rights or recourse. Second, the "Waiver of Liability" also called a "Disclosure Statement" cancels your rights to use the American Courts and thrust you into a Money Based System, in which the Book Gotcha Capitalism called a "Kangroo Court" called The American Arbitration Association. YOU have to pay up front cash fees, pay an arbitrator to read you case...It is a system stacked in favor of rich companies and against moderate income individuals.

Like the job interviews spoken to here, NACA Home Owners are mistreated, especially though who purchase Multi-Families Properties...Also, who can low and moderate income individuals turn to?

If you know of persons in litigation with NACA (either State Court, Federal Court or the American Arbitration Association) I would like to know about it...YOU can e-mail me at: accra_ghana@hotmail.com

I can. When I left in Oct, it worked on a paperless system, although, documents were scanned. At this moment, I believe in Jan, you can basically import everything from the WebSite. You can e-sign documents from what I've seen. The paperless system we had in place was there when I got there. I beleive it has been in place since 2004-05.

Wow! I came across this page by accident! I'm in the process of applying for a job with NACA and requesting help with my own home.

The job sounded great except fot the hours and location. Now I'm not sure I should even continue the process. It sounds like so many other Mortgage Brokerages, who promise lots of leads and good money. I can't risk a commission only income with poor or no leads. I've done that for 10 years, before all the changes in the industry.

Is there anyone who worked for NACA, liked it and made good money? If so please let me hear from you.

The idea of having to sign away legal rights to get assistance sacing one's home, plus up front cash fees is absolutely terrifying.

June of 08'I went on naca's website after hearing of a position opening in Birmingham Al. I fill out the application on line. I told them not to contact my present employer and guess what they did? Yep I got fired from my present job. I then called the regional director who interviewed me and told her of this. Guess What? Yep the next day I was hired for this position. My first week was at the B'ham office there I was told for the first time of the hours I would be expected to work. 50 to 60 hours a week. They had me working until 7 or 8 at night and on Sat. from 8 to 2. This company draws blood from you. I then was told the following week That I had to go to Boston for a week for training. I went around the world to get there and then missed my connection in N.C. by the way the airport closes at 8:00p.m. The next day I was up and ready to go at 5:30am to make it to Boston. When I arrived there they told me to get a cab to the home office and they would pay for it. They were very concerned about a single lady traveling alone. When I got there I had to park my luggage in a empty room and go right to class which lasted until 8:30pm. They rented two vans which schuttled us back and forth the rest of the week 8:30 am to 8:30 or 9:00 pm. We never went anywhere else. We were held hostage for the entire week. We had to eat lunch and dinner at our desk at the training center. They did take us to walmart one night. I called my sister one night and told her if I could change my flight without a $250.00 penalty I would be home in a heartbeat. When I did get home on Sat. went back to work on Monday and found out they had already made 8 appointments. I was told they make all the appointments and that I had no choice in the matter. Well, that did not sit well with me in light of the terrible experience in Boston. I told them that this was not for me. They with held my pay and I have contacted the Al. Dept. of Labor and turned them in for that. I will get my pay..........

It is my understanding that Michael Ellis an underwriter for NACA, has ben sent the direct contact at our Lender to start the negotiations 3 weeks ago and has made no contact. We are left in limbo, as no one will connect us with Michael. I have had the lender on the phone willing to talk with Michael, and no one would connect us with him.

I have to say that after standing in line for 9 hours, and waiting for 2 months, I expected SOMETHING to have happended by now...nothing. And to think, I haven't had anything done, but have referred people to NACA after being sold on the "promise" that they would at least try. I'm sorry I did, and will now on do just the opposite...steer people AWAY from NACA

Months ago I applied for their posted position. I was willing to put up with the crazy hours and the travel time (gas $$) from my home.

I just dont get these people! I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and was in private practicr for over 10 years. I have 10 years experience in the Mortgage Industry.

It sounded like a perfect fit. Someone who was used to counseling others AND had an in depth nowledge of mortgages and financing.

I was told to supply more information after I faxxed me resume, via the internet. I did that. Then I was told I had to attend a Saturday seminar, which took most of my day. I did that,

Did I ever hear from these people? No Am I seeing the job listed as "New" on Career Builder? "Yes."

What the heck is going on? Anybody have any ideas?

Here's my take on all of this as a new employee:

They are the WORST to their employees, I agree too many hors and too many days!

Took months for me to get in.

Training is crazy and unrealistic, 12-14 hour days and ou must room with a strange!

The founder is a psycho! And no one wants to stand up to him.

Have OVER $1,200 people in the database waiting for help.

Over work you and DOn't care if you have family.

From Homeowners point of view:

There really is No refi there is only Loan modification HOWEVER these people ARE NEVER realistic and don't care about their fellow man! It will take up to 3-4 months, period! People have no realistic thought process we tell them it will take a while, period! We are pratically the only game in town AND your present Lenders are not helpful NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU! They are fighting tooth and nail to keep your rates high!

But, for the people who RECOGNIZE that we are overworked and REALLY want to help EVERYONE, they will benefit in the long run because those are the ones that we are working for HOWEVER, for all the ones that complain about the amount time it takes or the no return calls (which I readily admit WE WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK< PERIOD) they will just stay with the same loan terms and what does that do? If we took 1 RETURN CALL NO one would get done, period!

The workers make a conscious decision and it goes like this, take calls OR work as many loans/modifications as you can and push until you get them through, we choose to push and help as many people as we can.

Some workshops I am guessing are not honest, ours are honest we tell EVERYONE upfront, don't call us , we will call you! Calling once a week does nothing, it will take over 2 months maybe even 3 but gain, what else is out there? For the person who said the lender was on the line willing to talk to an underwriter, the lender knew full well an Underwriter WILL not talk to another lender (most times) that same lender will not let their underwriters talk to ANOTHER lender so my guess is that was for show. NACA does not have nearly enough workers, no support from management because they are all scared to stand up to the founder, nmot enough underwritters and WAY to much business and unfortunately too many ungrateful customers and thats the real truth. Even when you are upfront and honest and tell people it will take 45, 60, 90 dyas to get the modification done they STILL call the home office and try to get you in trouble when there is ABSOLUTELY nothing the worker can! Its not all NACA's fault either, i see some lenders get right on it and have seen approvals as soon as 3-4 weeks but the VAST majority will take well over 60 days!

Also, they continue to make us have workshops adding more people to the list becuase it helps their funding, meanwhile those people really have to go to the back of a LONG line. There is the opportunity to make good money But as stated above you will have to put up with the crap from management and long hours but if the reward is when you can actually help soomeone and lets face it what company can give a 4% or even a 5% fixed rate with horrible credit. for the person who has 490 credit score, not to be smart but seriously NO OTHER COMPANY WOULD EVEN TAKE YOUR CALLS IN TODAYS MARKET, are you really serious about having

to wait? even if you wait 6 months, you are doing good because your not being late on your mortgage has absolutely no baring on the fact THAT YOU CAN'T GET ANY LOAN, FROM ANY LENDER! Your score alone would have been considered extremely poor even when the market was good so today it is down right horrific, and i am not trying to be cruel but someone should be honest with you. Now if you are still no where in 6 months, then there should be a concern and maybe you should just show up at the workshop and put them on the spot.

The work offices all seem to be not the greatest but our office is in a passable building and may seem a little old BUT it is clean so its bareable for me. my office just wants to help people so we are trying, and its hard, to hang in there and work as best we can within the horrible constraints the higher ups have subjected us to.
