What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?

How does NBC Universal stack up against the competition?

many jobs are being moved from new york (rockefeller plaza) to northern new jersey, so beware. they will be offering a free shuttle - but i can tell you from working for a big cable television company "offsite" that it is tough to shake the department being treated like stepchild when you're home is not headquarters.

Until the company wide lay-off last November, I was employed in their in-house print advertising agency. They are not very open to new ideas. I worked for one of the cable stations owned by Universal prior to the merger. I'd be weary of working for a company that is greatly contolled by ratings. Poor decisions made by the people on top affect everyone down the line. If you work for one of the cable stations make sure they do eveything in-house and are not involved with decision makers within NBC itself.
