I am an ex-employee. I was hired as a Diary Editor at the North Venice, FL office and was let go because of BELOW TARGET production. First of all, let me say that my work career consisted of insurance sales, outside sales, and retail management, primarily. The primary responsibility of Nielsen Media Research is to appease and cater to their clients, i.e. Advertisers. In order to please them, they must properly credit television viewing habits and allot 15 minute grids more than actually viewed. For example; if a viewer recorded watching a TV station's "Everybody Loves Raymond" and did not properly record the viewing for one half hour, that particular station would be credited for much more time than it deserved.
If you are interested in working for this company as a diary editor, the most important attribute you can bring is "NO COMMON SENSE-NO OUT-OF-THE-BOX thinking-NO LOGIC!
The turnover of employees is astronomical and, really, ridiculous! I'm not just "bashing" the company because I was let go! Their pay and the management is well below acceptable. Feel free to ask prior employees or even present employees.
