i left ng in 1989 i am told i cant recieve a penny from my vestment till"if i reach 65" is that true?

the benifets dept gave me a start date 20 yrs from now that i would begin getting a third full vestment....i would like to just get my money now as i can put it to use for me...does anyone no anything that could help me ...northrop and me parted ways long ago and if i earned that money dont i have the right to benifet me in these hard economic times?thams
