I am so very sorry to hear what happened. I hope didnt forget anything myself. I was upront and stated in detail my traffic violation incident when i caused an accident and the fine I got.

Just thinking, what would happen if anything happened, "knock on wood" between now and getting in class? Would they still toss you out? maybe I need to stop driving. LOL.

Also proud, I heard from someone from the compass forum say they are very very strict when it comes to certain traffic violations because in the airline industry, its Safety First. And when they have an element of doubt, then you are done.

Is it possible you could go and get your DMV incident report and go through it and see what you might have missed or what needs to be fixed so it wont follow you when you decide to apply with other airlines.

Once again, I am so sorry to hear that especially after getting rid of your stuff. I wish you all thebest of luck.

I've absolutely seen a copy of my DMV report. I even provided it to them in Seattle. It consists of the following:

1 highway speeding ticket;
1 failure to stop for school bus (I was stopped, but progressed too soon after the stop sign had been removed - you have to wait until the lights are off also;
1 driving without a license (left my purse at home).

That's it for the past 10 years. Like I said, no surprises and nothing other than 3 minor traffic infractions. However, on the report provided by GIS there was alot of additional verbiage which basically meant nothing. There were still only 3 citations, but I wondered if someone had just skimmed over the report without really reading it closely to determine that there were only 3 actual citations, because at first glance it could appear to be more than that. Who knows. I certainly don't know because NWA has never actually told me why. And that is what is most disturbing. Any company and/or any person is expected to treat all people with courtesy and respect - that is what I was raised to believe. It is sad to see that even before you are actually hired, this company's HR representatives are already breeding and fostering the 'management' vs 'labor' paradigm by showing so little respect to applicants/interviewees/future labor. It doesn't need to be that way, and they should be cultivating a new and improved relationship from the very onset....simply with a little common courtesy and r-e-s-p-e-c-t.

I hear you. They shoud have "kept it real" but apparently all airlines have the same way of doing things. There were two people on the compass forum that went through the same as you have. They say they were not given details which hurt them alot. One guy said, he went through the same with United Airlines and guess what, he is with continental now.

I firmly believe evrything happens for a purpose. This could be a blessing in disguise for you proud. There could be something in store for you.

I'm busy getting my things together to leave, I was wondering, what kind of pictures do they want you to bring for your VISA's, where do you get those photos from? I went to the post office to get my passport and they took my picture there, should I have gotten copies?

You can get your visa pictures in MSP and your passport photos wont work...

LOL sound just like me. I think i forgot everything, i gotta go through the CD again. I have been reading the red packet, one page/day LOL. I really do need to get myself together. Will pack my bags Saturday so if there is anything missing, i can run to the store. Between now and then, I am revisiting the CBT.

Did you get my email? I know..I can't get motivated to read the whole book. I have been working and out of town also. I am sure we will go over all the information again in class. I don't think we will have a test on day two? Day one is paperwork and all. Read my email... I put my # in there also. CBT?

I took some immigration passport size photos at a private camera shop, does it mean they are not usable? They are 2x2's. I have two smaller ones too. Damn, I wasted my money then.

It hit me when I realised I will no longer be employed by mesaba come Thursday, so no more flight benefits. Does anyone know when our flight benefits kick in with NWA. If they kick in first day at work, in my case June 12 or 13th some like that when i get to the base, how in the hell are gona get there? I might as well start soliciting for buddy passes from my co-workers if we have to find our own way there.

Did you get my email? Yes, our benefits kick in on the first day of work and they fly us to and from home after training.

You NEED to have those your first day. My entire class had ours on day one. Just go get four passport photo's to bring with you. It will look as if you are not prepared to the trainers if you come without them.

I had mine taken at Walgreens. Today was my first day and all you need is four regular passport photos. Walgreens charges 7.99 for two I think...

So, anyway, the passport sized photos were fine today in our class. :-)

I got them taken pretty much right after I got my letter and training packet just at a local Walgreens. (I'm a meeting and event planner and just HAVE to have all my ducks in a row!)

I had mine taken sometime back at a local camera shop. better go get them taken. if they are not the right size then you can always take new ones. I had seen Kristen's post too but I disregarded it anyway. Just get prepared for that first day.

Everyone had them in our class and they were just regular passport size. It's going alright up here... the weather has been really nice since I got here. Almost done with week two.. yeah!

I am having issues with packing my bags. Seems like I got too much stuff. How many pairs of pants and shoes did you pack? I dont wanna over pack.

Gina, If I were you, I would pack your business outfit (1 outfit and it would be good if it is black because then you can wear the black pants or skirt and white shirt on your IOE) and a pair of khaki color, blue and black casual pants. You have a washer and dryer in the apartment and can wash clothes. Oh, pack ONE pair of jeans - no holes and stuff, just like the red book says. You will need those on the drill days in the mock-ups. Bring a pair of shorts and a t-shirt for the pool drill. Don't overpack. Since you can do wash there, it isn't critical that you bring your whole closet. Most people are in the same boat (plane...!) and you may see outfit repeats but who cares?! We'll all be wearing the same thing in the end anyway, right?! I hope that helps. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. Day Two, here I ccome!

Just make sure your casual pants aren't too casual - they have to be kind of dressy...if that makes sense.....

I applied for the job on march 11th and received my F2F on March 25th @ 11AM and had a job offer that Friday March 28th Then had to be back in Seattle to get fingerprinted on April 2nd and received my training packet on April 8th 2008 It has been a whirl wind of a month. Seattle is a nice city to live in just be able to handle the rain and gray sky’s. Puget sound has a great diverse culture and thank god it is close to home.

I guess it has been a whirlwind month for you! I got hired back in Dec 07. I have been waiting a long time. Have you had a chance to finish your CD? I guess your very close to SEATAC and won't have to move? I thought I might be one of the older ones at 45 but I guess I am not..you can email me at trimandfit@aol.com if you like.

I am on my second go around with the CBT and still working on all 300 ATO codes I do plan being prepared for the first week of class. As for moving to Seattle I will have to find a crash pad or buy a place to make my own crash pad. Spokane in a 4 hour drive and we must be with in a 2 hour window of our domicile, I do plan to keep my homes in Spokane. As for my age I’m 35 I think I’m the youngest out of all the people that I met the day we went for fingerprinting.

Also remember when you are packing that if you do forget something or need something, you are right next to a big mall, a SuperTarget, KMart, etc.

We can park at DFW in the non base employee parking. We have to get a non base form from Delia Pertle at the SEATAC airport. Take the form to the employee parking at terminal B upper level non security between gates 17 & 19 and go to the door that says employee parking and go inside. Its $264 a year prorated or paid in quarters...up to us. info line is 972-574-0091 It was a hard number to find. I am writing all of this incase I lose it..it will be here for us.
