After talking with a recruiter on the phone for some time, how long does it usually take to hear if they are intererested in you. I see all the postings but wonder why the jobs are not filled. Any feedback would be greatful. |

The requisition can not officially be closed until the hired candidate has shown up for the first day of work. The candidate is usally given a conditional job offer until all the pre-employment process is complete. That means the job advertisement remains visible, sometimes on job boards, but most likely on the career center of the company. The airline industry requires specific background checks (which can take 2 or 3 weeks to complete), medical testing (maybe 3-4 days) and if the position requires USPS postage handling, the candidate has to get fingerprinted, which is usally out of state). Hope that helps somewhat.... |

Would it be a good idea to do a follow up by phone if I have not heard from NW about a Job opening I have applied for?

Hello Everyone Could anyone please tell me if NORTHWEST is having interviews for flight attendants? Very interested but can't seem to find out. Thanks |

Northwest is not accepting applications for FAs right now and not hiring until May. I am in the April class and talked to my recruiter about it because I had a referral. |

I have a phone interveiw with NWA on Sunday the 2nd. I applied online they asked to do a background check then they emailed me to schedule a phone interveiw. I really want to do this right. Is there anything anyone can suggest that could help me impress my interviewer so I can proceed to the next step. Sincerly,

redrosechick...how long did your background take? I had same process but have not heard anything in about 2 or three weeks after getting ok for background check...just wondering
|
|
redrosechick4920@yahoo.com in Roscommon, Michigan 51 months ago |
just keep checking your e-mail, it takes different amount of time for every background check. I was told that it really depends on the things you own and all that is in your name.

|
Mike 51 months ago |
Hey you all..Good luck. My background check took less than two weeks. I had to help supply some information but the lady who did it was great. It takes about a month later for them to call and offer you the class. I didnt know NWA was hiring again. My recruiter said it would be May. Thats great. Good Luck..I got hired on the spot....yahooo... |

Honestly,it seemed like they were never going to reply. I received two other e-mails from them one telling me to be patient the next one that they did have a position opening in an area that would work out great for me,but to be truthful if they needed me to work oversees than by God I would do it!!! |

I had my phone interview with a NWA recruiter at 11.40 am and a few minutes later I received the email saying I successfully passed the phone interview and will be notified of a F2F interview. The recruiter told me right after the interview thati made it and will have to go for my face to face as soon as a date opens up since they dont have one open right now. Good feeling. I was so calm and collected and I think i answered the questions deligently. I hope I do the same at the F2F. I am CSA for mesaba a subsidiary of NWA. |

I had a f2f interview for FA with Northwest about a week and half ago, was told I would be notified the following week but haven't heard anything. Does this mean I didn't get the job? |

Steve How did you start your application process? I guess what I'M trying to say is where do i start first? I can't seem to get into their web site |

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how the Face to Face interview process goes with Northwest, I successfully completed my phone interview and I have the f2f on tuesday, any help would be great. thanks! |

You start off with a math and time table test. You meet one recruiter who asks you many questions and then if selected you go to another. This person drills you on customer service and relocating. At that point, I was offered the job on the spot and did my finger printing and drug screen. I don't know if they offer everyone the job on the spot..but most airlines do. |

Hi Sharon I filled out the online application right before Christmas and recieved an email for a phone interview about 4 weeks later then I did that and was invited to the F2F about a week later and haven't heard yah or ney,but it sounds like they hire you on the spot so I am not hopeful at this point. I did notice they took the FA link off the website where I applied in Dec.Hope that helps you out some and good luck to you Sharon! |

Mine was not a group. It was just two face to face. It was very easy. Have customer service PROBLEMS thought of how you dealt with them. Also how you didnt get a long with other employees and how you worked through it. Be ready to read a card outloud about boarding a plane. EASY!! Where only black or blue and if a lady wear hose and have light make up on. |

Sharon, i did not have to contact them for an interview. I applied multiple times say from way back as Septmember 07. They probably had 10 copies of my applications. They just recently, a month ago started communicating with me on the fact that they were processing my application. They sent me a background check form. i sent it back. Then a day ago they sent me an email to schedule a a phone interview appointment. I called yesterday and was given today's date and at exactly 11.40 the recruiter called and we did it. They had actually sent an email saying they wont be sending anyone for training until summer and that if that was not okey for me they understand if I decided to go with someone else. I am staying with them. By the way, there are no more job postings on the website. Dont know why. |

Hi Sharon, I had a ftf inviewed with NWA and i got offered the position right after that, relax and answer as best you can. As far as your hair if you could pin it all back in ponytail professionally they really like that, make sure your wear a suit blue or black. Dress really sharp and wear makeup. Goodluck!!!! Lisa |

Congratulations Lisa. I got my appointment for a f2f interview for march 13th. I had pick a time for that date. Got me thinking if i was the only one or first one who is going to be interviewing in my city. Unless probably every candidate is allocated a day. So Lisa what where the question at the f2f if you dont mind me asking. I know could be the usual Customer Service questions. My first flight attendant interview, i was nervous, but for this one, i feel confident. |

Hey Mike, I have a cousin that works for NWA and she said that it is around $1357.00 a month plus per diem which she gets about 300 hours times 1.67 so it really depends on how often you fly.
