PS: Are any of these salaried? Because then that might make a little more sense, I think.

the whole re-structure is to provide a "Career Path & Sales Growth" to New/Existing OMX Associates

Our store had interviews last week - and we were told decisions were supposed to be made by this past Friday. Haven't heard anything though.

Hey, Just a point of interest:

71 jobs for Sales Consultant in various OMAX locations over the US just posted yesterday. See right side of "Indeed Jobs" for OfficeMax, on the home page here. They all dropped on the same day!!!!

Just heard some news recently Impress Supervisors are getting trained to Open & Close stores due to the fact that there may not be Store Ops Supervisors in some locations now!! Wish they would make up their minds. So the latest is that we should know something by the 7th now!! It is my understanding that the Impress Supervisors will be getting raises due to being on the "schedule" as "opening/Closing" personnel.
So that would be your 3rd External keyholder- Where does that leave the ones who currently hold external keys? Demoted with a cut in rate of pay? Typically when you hold exterior keys you get $1 per hour more.
If you don't have external keys you get a pay decrease of $1 per hour. The questions continue to grow!

Some stores are closing! Interesting! One store I know of that is closing in 2-3 days is somewhat of a money maker when you look at their year to date figures and etc and compare it to the store I am in!!! They are also ranked above on the sales report compared to my store. Why aren't announcements coming out on store closures??? Talk about keeping things close to the vest, these associates didn't know ANYTHING ahead of time!! They were just told!! A vendor let it slip to us when they were in doing a re-set!!! Nice huh?? Can't find any info at all on current stores due to close!!

Oh and PS, with the new structure*** Don't look for your total experience to have anything to do with you getting placed in Ops supervisory position. Even if you previously did the same job for the company and were promoted from it why they had their last "restructure". They don't concern themselves with experience, they will be looking for OUTSIDE help to fill most of these positions!! Over half of the stores in the company are not hiring from with-in!! Just FYI

I heard that offer letters were supposed to be done by today and that new structure/salary starts tomorrow.

Another uniform change?? We just got the shirts with the ball on them! PS That was a company that Ravi was CEO of (Aramark") before Omax hired him. Check that out. Ravi makes 20 million a year since he's been with Max. He's on the top 10 heavy hitters as CEO's in Retail companies so it is said.

I just found that he received $12.03 million in 2010 - where did you find $20 mil? Just curious. That's insane.

Has anyone heard anything about any new store closings coming about? It seems in certain districts there are stores that are consistently on the bottom 3, their leases are up, and they are in negative ebitta, and have not had very good shrink results!! Any thoughts on this??? Anyone???

On a different subject: If I read the list correctly, we are discontinuing all of the resume paper in ImPress. So when what ever stock we have it gone, it's gone.

I also read some where that new dress codes will be announced sometime this month. I know this is all over the board, but, I"m wondering what all of these decisions mean for the company as a whole.

Really, I don't think that's a good move as far as not carrying resume paper in Impress. That' how I add on sales in this department. I wonder why they did that? Regarding the new dress code, I had heard that the company was thinking about black pants as opposed to khaki because of the new tech shirts that came out (these remind me of racing shirts) LOL , what have you heard?

I've heard a few different wild rumors - one was black pants and orange shirts, because "Eve likes orange and yellow". But the most realistic that I've heard was the switch to black pants. I have no idea what color the shirts nor non tech/impress will be. I thought they wanted the tech people to stand out.

Funny!!! EVE likes orange & yellow??? Maybe around Halloween, with black pants!!
I heard the black pants rumor too. I wonder about the regular Omax shirts though. It doesn't make sense that we would wear black pants with black shirts. So who knows??
