What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?

How does Pactiv stack up against the competition?

They have a long history of conducting a "purge" or layoff of approx 200 employees at one time. This is done every 4 or 5 years. So if you haven't kissed major a** lately, you will probably be purged. If not you will be in 4 years. Its a way to keep all their employee's scared and in step.

Just ask the over 75 employees that got laid off today....Happy Holidays! Stay away from this company. It's all about numbers to them and not the people. I just closed an over 500K account and that didn't matter. I got laid off just like they did it in the movie 'Up in the Air'. Guess they wanted to clear their books before the new year.

Another 100+ this week after the first 75? The Bloodletting continues at Pactiv due to a foreign equity acquisition and the dissolution of Pactiv for what it once was. You can hear an echo in the corporate office and sales staff is a skeleton crew. Stay away is right!!!!!! (Prior poster you are right!!!!!!!)

Yes, This is highly unfortunate. The Execs sold to highest bidder, who was unfortunately RANK LLC. RANK (G. HART) is known for taking a high pressure leverage situation (ie BORROWED MONEY) and cutting workforce significantly in the early months to improve the margin, pay the debt, put a "dress" on the company's profit picture, and sell for a large profit. This is yet another bad situation for LAKE COUNTY and its employees. Is anybody left at Pactiv?
