Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Paragon Systems?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Paragon Systems?

Paragon is now part of the Swedish owned Securitas AB family of companies. This large parent corporation remains profitable through quantity over quality. Paragon is still being absorbed into this parent company. Payroll and Benefits are now managed through the parent organization. Management, Human Resources, Administration, and Payrol are current extremely inefficient, and I expect it to get worse as more functions are absorbed by the parent organization. The general response to any question at any level is "no", and every level seems terrified to take an issue up to a higher level...

Th majority of Paragon's employees are uniformed federal contract security officers. Hours vary. Most contracts have unionized. As the NLRB cannot certify a union that represents non-security employees to represent security employees (a provision of the Taft Hartley Act), most of the unions are second rate and are not very effective in improving treatment or conditions.

A typical work days starts with gearing up at home with your uniform and co pay issued equipment. You must then commute to work without detour and arrive early enough to deal with parking and getting to your assigned post in time to begin your shift. When your shift ends, you are required to leave the property and commute directly home without detour while still in full uniform and having all equipment still on your duty belt around your waist. Your workday ends after you have arrived back at home and have removed your uniform and have properly stored ll co pony issued equipment. You will be paid from the time your shift begins until the time it ends.
