What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does PAYCHEX stack up against the competition? |

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! It took me over a MONTH to go through thier entire interview process!First They have you research thier company over the internet. Then they have you do a phone interview with one person a week later, THEN they have you do a regular interview with another person scheduled about two weeks later,THEN they have you come in another WEEK later to go through a work day w/ ANOTHER person and afterwards have you interview AGAIN, this time with two different people who do a good cop, bad cop routine. The one lady who interviewed me was really aggressive, almost to the point of being rude and seemed very young and inexperienced. They had me take a math test and personality test during the first in house interview which I was told I did excellent in, yet ANOTHER week goes by and I receive a letter in the mail saying they chose not to hire me. I don't know if they are aware that the people who invest all this time to be treated so unprofessionally just don't vanish off the face of the earth. They go on to find other employment and pass along all the negative information regarding PAYCHEX,thier employee's and interviewing process. |

I had a completely different experience. I applied from the website. I got a call in two days. Went for the interview the following week. Met with upper management two days later for a second interview and was hired the next day. I have worked at this company in three branches and can say each branch is different and managed differently. |

obviously Illinois you're disgruntled because you did not get the job... why is there such an extensive interview process? maybe it's to weed out people like you.. there is a reason why this company made top 100 companies to work for... stop blaming the company's hiring process and start looking in the mirror |

Come to think about it, PAYCHEX only hires the ones that don't pose a threat...especially if you do illegal drugs. The pre-employment screening is a joke. |

Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? The jobs at Paychex are more secure than most anything else you could find. They have never had a layoff in their history. Their exceptionally high natural attrition rate has made layoffs unnecessary. They are in perpetual replacement hiring mode. If you can put up with the most miserable salary you can imagine along with mediocre benefits, Paychex is a secure job. |

They stink - direct experience still. It's all a show and the low level managers are 'tards. Maybe higher up on the totem pole it gets better. From a sales standpoint, they prey on unwary business startups and spend massive $ to keep their name clean. Pretty good business strategy but horrid for the businesses. ADP is offering 1/2 off Paychex current account prices if that says anything about the margins. They will be around as long as there are new businesses that don't know any better signing up with them. They stink. |

Try working there. If you do, maybe California is better. It stinks in at least one other place. Oh by the way, did you see who conducted that survey? Keep dreamin' buddy. anonymous in Hayward, California said: obviously Illinois you're disgruntled because you did not get the job... why is there such an extensive interview process? maybe it's to weed out people like you.. there is a reason why this company made top 100 companies to work for... stop blaming the company's hiring process and start looking in the mirror |

Ask me how I know? I know who they survey, they know exactly what employees are getting that survey before they send it out. It isn't the majority of people that work there that leave within a year, I will tell you that much! |

I am truly confused as to how Paychex made it into the Top 100 Places to Work. Instead of a mirror, I decided to install a WINDOW into the employee experience. If you want to know what it is like to work at Paychex before you go through the extensive employment and training programs, check out this blog: |

Well I just got hired with Paychex and my first day is this week. The interview process went well. Very extensive but everyone seemed very professional and legit. I think everyone has a different experience. Sometimes it depends on your management and if you like the people you work with. Every job has its ups and downs but hopefully I wont end up feeling the way some of you people feel. |

I have a friend of mine who works for Paychex in LA and he thinks it's good. Not outstanding but good. What kind of work do you do? |

I just read all of the comments here and I really must say, there is a more positive way that those of you who had a bad experience can look at this. If everyone had a positive experience at every job interview they had, then we wouldn't have a soaring unemployment rate and there would be no competition in the job market. Just saying... |

AND THERE IS A "JOB DEPENDENT" TEST AT THE END! Are you serious? So if you're hired, you have to take another job dependent test? I have an interview scheduled tomorrow, but now I'm not sure if it's worth even going on this interview. I just don't think it's worth the risk of getting fired and being left on the streets. Who does this? Seriously! When I'm hired, that should be it, unless I completely screw up in my job, which is what it's like for any other job. |
