Do you work at PAYCHEX? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

You need to know someone if you want an interview. Once you get the interview, prepare for at least 3-5 seperate trips for interviews. And then it will be another 3 weeks to a month before you hear anything!

I was hired in a matter of 2 weeks out of a branch in NJ. I was called in for the first interview. The 2nd interview was 2 days later. I was offered the job the following day. I have worked in 3 branches and things are different in every branch. I was a Supervisor and reponsible for hiring. I hired my staff very quickly.

So, you are saying that we should apply in another state to get a job that is hiring right here in Fresno? I can say this much: this is sad that companies send so many qualified people through unnessary crap just to get a job.

If you are trying to get a job at Corporate in Rochester....one month minimum and at least 3 interviews.

I have mixed feelings about this company and I worked there for about 4 years. It isn't hard to get in the door but you better be prepared to do some serious butt kissing to get promoted out of the pauper salary range.

You are correct! When anything outside of bottom-feeder opens up, they already have someone in mind, but they will drag you through several interviews regardless.

Oh yes, they always know who they are going to promote beforehand and if you are not part of the "clique" you can just forget about it. Either way it is still a great place to gain training for the payroll industry. I would reccommend it for anyone looking for an entry level position.

Be very personable and conversational. I talked to my current boss about anything from coffee to the movie Rudy. Don't sweat the tests. Wear a suit or your closest thing to a suit. And ask lots of questions, even if you don't care about the answer. :)

You have no idea how true this is. I not only worked for this company but dated a manager there years after I left. They already know who they will hire before they even post a job, the posting is some kind of company formality. Forget about EEO too. Don't work here, that is my advice.

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

Step 1: Surrender your self respect
Step 2: Agree to the concept that you are property of the company 365/24/7
Step 3: Assume the mindset of "Lemming"
Step 4: Submit any sense of style or individuality to the company
Step 5: Accept your position as an "underling" in the elitist culture of Paychex
Step 6: Concede to the endless list of humiliating and Draconian policies

I applied for a job at Paychex, had 1st interview that went well and even took an online assesment test. 44 minutes after taking the test,I received an email that I was rejected from consideration. This was despite the fact that they had not even received the results of the test yet. If that wasn't bad enough, I was then asked to provide contact information for people who may be interested in a career at Paychex and to forward that information to the regional recruiting manager......LOL. This experience was enough for me to realize that this would probably be a dead end job, and this company has no class in any sense of the word.

It is so hard to get on with Paychex. I applied for the Miramar (miami office) so many time and I cant get call. I apply for the CLient Services Rep. I have BA in Business and I know I qualify for at least an interview. I even tried to contact a few recruitors on Linkedin. One said that I should gear my resume toward the job that I am applying. did it today and applied a gain . So lets see what happens. I know they are tired of seeing my name. I apply for the same type od positions.

How much do they pay for a Client Service Rep in Miami?
Why is it so hard to get through?
They post the same positions back to back.
Do the hire a class full or just one person?
A class will always give a candidate a better change instead of selecting one person
